    VGA cable help

Hey guys, I recently bought a 15 pin VGA cable to connect my TV to my laptop, so I can display what is on my laptop screen on my TV. Anyway, when I plug it in it reduces the quality of the display on my laptop. Any ideas as to how I can stop this, or why it's happening? Thanks :)

As far as I know, VGA's quality is bad. That may be the reason the quality is ugly.

    Sorry if I couldn't help.

Yeah, it wouldn't surprise me if it is, but that wouldn't explain why it is decreasing the quality of the display of my laptop. After all, it's just copying what's on the screen? Or is it splitting the 'data' between the two devices?
