Veigar Op?

Just played a game as veigar against ziggs in mid
he owned me early game (didn't get the kill tho) however mid and late game i started to own their team
It got to a point where i was 1 hitting ziggs with my ult and could insta kill elise and MF with E, then W then Q
whats your opinions on veigar
is he op

he is pretty strong against most mid champs, and his stun is pretty op, but it depends on mostly the skill of the player and any champ can be op, just needs to be played right

His single target burst is insane and I really like that AOE stun but there are much better mids that contribute alot better to team fights imo.

Counter-AP can basically counter every AP
His combo is so OP its unbelievable.

I think if someone knows how to shut down Veigar's early AP build-up, then they'll have the advantage late-game. But if you don't he'll snowball to an insane levels of power. He's very squishy so people like Caitlyn mid will shut him down based primarily on out-ranging him and shutting him down.

This makes sense of this thread. At lower levels its not what champ you are but how much knowledge of the game you have

So health and MR while your AP builds up from (Q?)? Then build the rest from there?

They're situational items but they help a lot. The needs severely cut down his total burst because you're stunned for less time and have some extra mr. If you're still losing and keep getting bursts down though get those defensive itema. You sacrifice immediate damage but you survive easier so you can farm up etc. this is especially helpful if your champion benefites from warmogs, rylais, abyssal, etc. I'm not saying you shouldn't build ap items in between as you need. Everything is very situational. Play around with different defensive pathways when you have trouble though

This is mostly attributed to the fact that most people don't play him frequently and thus don't have much experience with him, losing games more often as a result.

The fact is that his Q is slow to accumulate AP, and in the end the AP he gains is worth about 2k gold, which is what he ends up missing since he's bullied out of lane so often, he loses CS and kills. His range is too low on his skillshots, so anyone with a mid-range poke can be considered his counter. Plus, pick Viegar, they pick a Zed or Kha'Zix or Talon or other AD mid.

His group stun is decent, but skilled players just press S as soon as they see the animation.

Couldn't have been better said myself. His ranges overall are too low. I can beat him out with nidalee. I just play her hybrid instead of AP!
