    Vegetarians? Why?

People seem to like flouting their ignorance on this topic. Vegetarians do not need supplements.

http://www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk/articles/article.aspx?articleId=1122 - skip down to "people on special diets" for proof.

That's just my way of saying that most people will be sad to see species of animals go extinct ^_^, I will be. The main point of my argument is about how killing species off will adversely affect our own futures.

Your death is inevitable too, but you don't like being treated cruelly.

We know that animals suffer when they are abused, and thus we should afford them some of the same consideration we give to humans.

Meh. I'm sure we can keep an "Archive Zoo" somewhere.

Animals are not rational beings, and cannot respect my rights.

    Vegetarians? Why?

This was the most hypocritical thing I have ever seen another human being type.

You don't care about the feelings of a "walking steak", yet if that animal were as rational as you, a human, were, then you'd want it to care for your feelings, given the event that you were stranded, surrounded by it and it's group... Do you base your decision of the whole, "No-Care for their "feelings", eat them, on the fact that they are irrational?

Nonetheless, as humans, we are taught to forget that we are animals. Though one species may be superior to another, it is animal nature to kill, and eat. It is as the world is, and it is life. So, in a sense, to deny yourself meat is to deny life.

That, and it just tastes good. :]

I've got a gruesome hypothetical argument in this case:

Let's say a brain damaged individual is reduced such that he/she cannot respect your rights. Would you count that individual as stripped of their rights, open to treatment equal to that of the animal in the video? Clearly not.

What is your logical basis for giving categorically separating humans off from other animals in terms of rights?

Yes, I do. I fail to see the hypocrisy.

    We're rational animals.

It depends. If they are completely not rational, then I wouldn't really have a problem with it.

    Rationality.

Well, most Vegetarians are so because they do not like to kill animals and hurt the basis of nature.

    Watch this video:
    www.meat.org

    Might change some peoples minds.

Anyways most vegetarians are either religious Muslims, Jews, Christians.

Their sacred writings each have different reasons.

Since the Christians and the Jews have the same source of where in the beggening all were supposed to be vegetarians.

    Muslims do it for religion.

Personally, I eat meat just because I need the nutrients and its the way life works.

This is quite untrue.. Muslims don't eat pork, not meat in general. Jews don't eat on a certain day, and Christians .. Well, there is no religious standpoint as to why a christian may not eat meat.

Ha, most religious muslims DO NOT eat meat at all, where the fuck do you get your sources?

Religious Jews think of vegetarians because in the beginning all were supposed to be one, so they keep to that....

Christians may I have the views of life and that shit.

If you don't eat meat, you are saving the life of animals. Whether or not you care about that, is up to you.

Exactly. They say, we don't need meat to survive. Technically; we do. What if medications or other death-defying pills weren't created? You'd need the meat, otherwise you'd have a lack of nutrients and slowly weaken/die.

It's such a stupid choice and rationality. All they are doing is leaving the "carnivores" or normal people more meat to live off of, while they sit at dinner munching on a hearty meal of lettuce.. I mean, really, it can't be that filling, can it?

Not true. Whether or not you decide to eat doesn't change a thing. Either way that cow will be slaughtered. There will always be a demand. So really, that's a dumb logic. Maybe overall, in many years demand will SLOWLY go down, but really, as I've said, it doesn't change anything.

I and every vegetarian I know get all the required vitamins from our regular diets, and we don't take any sort of vitamin supplement, so stop spouting crap! This is the fifth time I've said this on this thread! You're smart enough to quote what someone said earlier, but you're not smart to read my posts proving time and again that your position is false!

There will always be a demand, but there is less demand when many people do not involve themselves in the market (i.e. buy the meat). So there is less slaughter.

IF we are talking about the US, I refuse to eat ANY MEAT FROM ANYWHERE.

Do you know what kind of "artifical shit" is in that meat?

I'm all for eating meat, but when the animals are mistreated to the point where it poses a threat to my health, it's just wrong.

All the animal has to do is say. "Don't eat me" , or something within that context and I wouldn't eat it...

Are you implying that "if it can't speak to us, it's OK to eat it"? Maybe we should all eat our newborn babies, then?
