Looking to get rid of a few of my Subtanks to trade for a TFV4. My local shop's got the kits for $34.99 and everyone's loving them. I'm not jumping on them too quick since I haven't been vaping much like I used to be.

In other news, I'm having a buddy whip together a few different types of coils for me to try out. I've been barebones Kanthal wrapping since I started, I'm excited to try out some of his fused claptons etc.

Also, opinions on this method? When I make new coils tonight I'm going to give it a shot, but I've also heard great things about it.

Experienced the first light hotheadedness I've had for a long time, dat nicotine buzz. Rocking the quad coil at the moment and liking it.

I have no idea about coil building other than bare bones wire wrapping with some cotton through the center. So your guess is as good as mine

 

I've been using this method for almost a week and it has been great. Zero dry hits even when the cotton is almost completely white.

On another note I just found out about RTAs wow hes really behind. Anyone have experience with one? The one I was interested in was the Billow V2. It looks like a hybrid of my current RDA with a tank. They seem like they're easily susceptible to dry hits. Plus the annoyance of screwing things together too tightly or not tightly enough isn't something I want to experience again. The option of not having to carry my juice around with me makes me want to try it.

 

When I rebuilt last night I wicked like this and dear lord never going back. Takes like a minute or two longer than usual but it is 1000000000% worth it.

And I have heard great things about the Billow in terms of an RTA. I only have experience with using the RTA in my Subtanks. I don't dislike it but it is a great alternative to purchasing coils, I didn't really get any better performance compared to the OCC coils though.

If you're looking at a tank comparable to an RDA take a look at the TFV4, the triple, quad and possibly even the 6 coil heads are probably the closest thing to an RDA you can find atm. Not to mention there are two rebuildable bases for it, one with a single coil and another that will allow two. It really seems like the way to go for tanks, but I can't say much because they are fairly new and I myself haven't used one.

 

I'm not too interested in the prebuilt coils at the moment; perhaps in the future. The interesting thing about the Billow is that it is basically the posts of the RDA with a tank around it.

 

This thing definitely does guzzle juice. The 0.15 quad coil is eating like 150-200% more than the 0.5 ohm single coil in my atlantis 2. And the A2 isn't exactly conservative with eating up juice. That's to be expected though.

Hopefully anyone using this tank DIY's juice or goes to sites like mount baker vapor where you can get decent quality in bulk.

 

It's insane, I go through easily 15-25ml of juice a DAY with this tank. No regrets though, it's awesome.

 

My SW just kind of stopped working out of nowhere this morning. Was vaping while browsing reddit, put it down and went to go eat. Come back maybe 30 minutes later and it just won't turn on anymore. Recharged batteries, nothing. Broke out a fresh set, nothing.

Kinda salty since they only have a 30 day warranty and I've had it for about 3 months. I just would think it would last a bit longer than that. Now that I google it, it is an apparent problem but I just don't know what to do lol.

 

Are the batteries moving around at all when you pull off the magnetic cover?

Nope, they set in there normally. It was really strange. Vaping one minute, set it down, and the next minute it wasn't working. I opened it up and all of the leads seem to be soldered down snugly, but I honestly don't know what it should look like.

And I heard it was a hearty mod, that's why I went for it. Reading online more often then not it's reliable, but if anything is to go wrong this is fairly common.

Yeah, mine been bulletproof. I've thrown it around, dropped it, etc.

The outside is totally scratched up but its 100% my fault. The only issue I've ever had with it is I dropped it hard and it bent the metal plates the battery connects to. The positive one was stuck good, so I just took the negative side and spread bent it out a little so I don't get any battery rattle.

That's unfortunate though, hopefully you can get it working again.

Definitely. Try again with some higher nicotine if you need it. You could even try tobacco extracts in ejuice.

 

Saw a review of the haze dripper, looked pretty sick.

Its basically an RDA with a 2Ml tank section at the bottom that you let your cotton lead into.

Googled that shit with my wallet already out. $120....

FUCK THAT. $120 for an RDA in 2015? Nope :/

Can someone please explain vaping to me because I really don't get it. I mean from what I can gather some people quit cigs only to keep spending hundreds on different mods which only change how much smoke you get and the temperature. After you get a good mod you have to spend tons on juice because of how much it burns up. So your only saving a little in the end and its better for your health but most agree that vapes taste like light beer cigarettes, and they change back in the end. Then you have the non-smokers that vape which makes little since because your basically just doing it because its in "style" and i don't even know why?

 

That's just a choice to upgrade. You could compare it to buying better computer parts. If I spend $100 on something I'll use every day for years I consider it a good purchase.

For some that's true, but you can still make your own juice for pennies. Either way, spending $10-20 on juice every week or three is still cheaper than buying a pack of cigarettes every day or two.

I don't know who you're talking about when you say "most". The only ones I could see included in that group are the ones that buy the cheap cigalikes. I don't consider those to be of good quality and not a good representation of other e-cigarettes.

 

Vaping can be very inexpensive. For around $40-75 you can get a really good setup. E-juice can be inexpensive, you can get 30Ml bottles for $7.50 that can last a week if you're not using a juice hungry setup.

Compared to smoking a pack a day, that's some pretty good savings. But cost isn't the only factor, its estimated to be about a 95% healthier alternative.

E-juice certainly does not taste like light beer cigarettes. There are lots of flavors that are absolutely delicious.

No one that I've setup with vaping has gone back to smoking. Some can even stop smoking cigarettes completely in the first week. It works much better than things like gum, patches, or trying to quit cold turkey.

 

yeah but are you really going to use it for years. The snobs out there (No offense to anyone in this thread.) are always going to buy the newer and better mods and claim you have to have this one. So in the end you'll have it for a couple of months then buy the newest one. Just like computer parts.

Most of my friends do buy the expensive ones and not the throw aways and it ends up sitting in a drawer somewhere because they slip up and smoke a cigarette, usually because their battery ran out or something. And they have like this opiffany and remember cigs are so much better. Every couple of years a few of my friends will jump on the vape bandwagon and 6 months later they're back to cigarettes. Shit some people I know spent $400 on their set up, its good that you can resell them.

I don't know it kind of seems like a card game to me except for smoking, gotta collect all the juices and mods until 2-5 years go by and then its pointless.

 

No I agree with you the tastes are amazing I love that part of vaping. I meant light beer like its lacking the umpf that cigarettes do. Kind of like heroin addicts replacing heroin with pain killers, technically they are almost the same but it just feels like your lacking in pleasure. Idk I can usually predict when someones going to fall off the bandwagon on vapes and go back to cigs. Not saying it isn't a good way to quit because its way better than the things you stated. Buuuuuuuuuut I think if you have friends who smoke cigs over vapes you're probably not going to stick with vaping.
