A lot of deaths

So I'm sort of weirded out lately. There's been an abnormally high rate of suicides in the last 5 years, at least 11 suicides. Suddenly, in less than a year, two people have died at my workplace (a YMCA fitness/pool center). Someone died today there, we think it was a heart attack, but the police wouldn't tell the staff or anyone else.

Before that, on friday, someone was murdered-- stabbed in the leg, then in the heart by a 16 year old-- 3 minutes from my house. Have you guys been noticing a lot of non-old-age related deaths occuring in your hometown? I want to know if it's happening more often around the world, or if it's literally just my hometown that's going nuts and dying.

 

Well it has always been near where I live, which is right outside Detroit, so not really more killings than usual, but definitely still alot.
It does suck though, to know, or know of someone loosing there life before they got to live it fully.

 

The thing is, I live in such a small town, the 14-15 people who've died make up like 5% of our entire population-- we're under 15000 in population (I know it math doesn't add up, I'm just estimating, cbf finding the actual number lul)

 

Murders don't happen often around here, but in the county next to mine (about 10 minutes away) two 15 year olds shot another kid to death after arguing about something stupid. There might have been a couple more incidents like that in the past couple of years, but overall it isn't too common (at least not here, and it's a pretty small, but rapidly growing suburb)

 

Seems to be a murder or two at least a few times a month around here with only 25k residents

 

Where I live there's never been a murder, and barely any crime I guess.

 

The answer is simple. Theres more dumb people every year. They act dumb, piss the wrong person off and wind up face down in a pile of their own juices. Its nothing abnormal happening in your town, its nothing anyone can stop, unless of course you were to go around to ever dumbasses houses and warn them who not to be stupid around.

 

I live near London, a lot of gangs and violence and shit :/
In the town that I live in, last year a drunk driver ran over and killed 3 15 year olds.

I live in a small rural town but we have a huge drug problem. I mean they profiled us on 60 minutes or 20/20 or something. That is how bad it is. Pretty much all the Oxys on the east coast drug trade come through here at one point.

 

No, in fact, It's been a while since anyone near me has died. However, there have been many tragic deaths of close family friends during my 15 years. And when I say tragic - I mean extremely horrible murders.

 

I live in the suburbs north of Detroit so there isn't much crime going on around me, however, Detroit isn't the friendliest city and neither is Flint which is an hour up the road, last I checked both those cities were in the top 5 for most murders.

 

Around my area there has strangely been several child deaths (6-10) over the past 3 months due to accidents with rugby balls, footballs and golf balls where they have been hit with them in certain spots which has killed them. Quite tragic :/

I live in a suburb outside of Minneapolis (about 30 minutes away). But almost everyday some one gets shot and killed, sometimes its even multiple deaths a day. You see at least 3 news reports a week on different victims. Not to mention all the heroin runs through my town from The north side, and about 35% of kids in my school are hooked & have to deal with the cartels everyday so i think the murder effect might start trickling down.

 

I live in London. Drugs are easily found, guns are rarer/more expensive but still pretty much available. Murder's pretty high for under-30 year olds.

 

That's interesting. I've lived in the same neighborhood my entire life. When i was younger i witnessed two deaths, saw two guys on two different occasions shot to death near a canyon i used to live by.
However, a decade or so later I haven't really heard of any murders.

 

a few weeks ago 3 people were killed and a fourth man is in critical condition (not sure if he still is or not) at an attempted robbery of one of those armored truck companys when it was picking up cash, by a member of the company. other than that my city has actually had a significant less amount of deaths compared to last year.

 

I live in Vancouver most of the year, and let me tell you this. Vancouver's crime rates is fucking high. That's mainly because the metrocity is full of gangs that's raving to kill each other.
I mean, I see shootings in the daily paper. Deaths are always on the front page, unless Canucks are on the play-offs. That's how common it is there. It's so daily, Canucks are more important than murders.

 

Reading this scares me, I just heard of two people who died around the area, and I live in a safe city in the suburbs.

 

And this Colorado shooting just recently happened too. :O:O:O
