    I. IntroductionHello! And welcome to my first guide! This guide is going to be teaching you the basics of a Poker game called Texas Hold 'Em. Alot of people find it complicated, so I'm going to break down the basics, and later possibly get into more advanced information.

    II. Background/Rules

Texas Hold 'Em is a variation of Poker. This style of Poker is played with two cards dealt to you, and 5 cards on the table. The object of the game is to use your two cards to get the best possible hand with the 5 community cards on the table. Everyone uses these cards along with theirs, but if you have the best hand out of all the other players at the table, you win the pot. Yes, the pot. I'll explain that later.

    III. Types of Hands

In order to win the pot, you need to have the best 'hand'. Having the best hand means having the best combination of your cards and the 5 community cards on the table. The types of hands are as follows, in order from WORST TO BEST.

    Ace High (Only one card)
One Pair (A pair of cards)
Two pair (Two pairs of cards)
Three of a kind (Three matching cards AKA: Trips, or Set)
Straight (Five cards in sequential rank [2,3,4,5,6] Aces can be high or low; AKA: Run)
Flush: (Five cards of the same suit [6,J,K,3,2 of Spades)
Full House (Three-of-a-kind and a pair [2,2,2,4,4] AKA: Full boat, or boat)
Four of a kind (Four matching cards AKA: Quads)
Straight-Flush (A straight of all one suit [2,3,4,5,6 of Hearts])
Royal Straight Flush (An Ace High straight of one suit [10,J,Q,K,A of Diamons])

    V. Strategies

There are many strategies in Hold 'Em, and here are just a simple few that beginners will need to know.

Bluffing- This is when you try to trick your opponent(s) into thinking you have a good hand, when you don't. Usually trying to scare them out of the pot, taking the money.

Slow playing- Simply when you have a good hand, but don't want to scare anyone out of the pot. By slowly putting in a fair amount of chips each turn, everyone will stay in longer, increasing the size of the pot; making it more money for you to win.

Buying out- This only happens when you try to bluff, but your opponent calls you. So, you try to bet extremely high amounts of money to make the other person quit, because they don't want to risk their money. Not recommended for beginners.
