    Utilizing the Ban Function

On VBulliten and most other Forums, there is a way to "Blackhole" someone's IP. It is essentially an IP ban meaning that the User cannot make or new account or even access the Forums.

I think scammers should be subject to this punishment as the majority of the scammers on here already have multiple banned accounts and are ban evading.

At least make a new team of Moderators to patrol the Forums in search of Ban Evaders.

You have to do something about all of these scammers as I think something around 70-85% of the traders in the Runescape section scam. This is a staggering number, but my only successful trades were with people who have "Stores" or "Shops."

Any other trade, with the exception of the player, Rams, was either a scam attempt, or went fine until the person recovered their account a week later.

I'm sorry for the negative comment.

    Humbly,

    -En

IP bans are virtually useless as your average child knows how to change their IP.

Oh my god yes why didn't we think of this sooner. Thank you for this enlightening post.

I am sorry to inform you though, that there is too much variance in your fabricated percentages for anyone to even take you pretend seriously. If you're going to make numbers up, atleast be confident.

We can and sometimes do IP ban people. We used to IP ban pretty much every banned member, but as others have pointed out it really doesn't stop anyone from coming back. At least if someone ban evades on their old IP they're easy to catch.

That. IP bannings are not only easy to get around, they also force people to change their IPs. This just makes them harder to catch when they make a new account on their new IP thus making the IP ban pointless.

Thank you to all who replied, I see that it has been considered, though I do not like with waiting and watching for people to Ban Evade as obviously they are not caught until after the scam another user.

As for that comment, completely uncalled for. You would be surprised how many "trusted" members recover their accounts after a few weeks. There is no need to be a smartass and I am only talking from my personal experience.

I have only had 1 trade so far in which the player did not recover his account later on. I have bought over 10 accounts and have had a middleman present each time...

Like I said, no reason to be a smartass. If you disagree that is one thing, but to belittle me for an idea is flat out rude.

    Thanks to all who posted.

We're actually constantly banning ban evading that haven't been reported for scamming
