Using a middleman for trading

I recently came back to the forum after few years and looking at my previous trades, 2 of the 3 people I traded with are now banned. I also remember trading with them since they were trusted back then. After seeing that I am wondering if I could use a middleman for all of my trades.

Is it wrong to use a middleman or official middleman for every trade?

At which point can a user be trusted enough for me to go first if I plan on trading them? (Is it about ranks, donations, miniranks, vouches?)

It is not wrong to use a middleman for all your trades, just make sure you're not trading with impersonatings (always request a PM). Read: Trading 101 - Vouches, donor status and how you can stay safe!

And to your second question that depends on who the other user is and what the specifics of the trade are, everyone is different. for example id never go first to @Wortel

Answers everything about your last question. Personally, If I was new to sythe, I'd make sure of a few things before going first to someone:

1.) Join date, make sure they've been on sythe for at least a year+ and have a decent post count(not inactive old accounts)
2.) Vouches - I'd hope they have at least 50-100+ vouches and that they were put in a position of trust in those vouches where other users went first to them
3.) Donor, if they're a donor then that's a bonus - a lot of people use this as a way to scam when they don't have 1 & 2, so keep that in mind

If they meet all three criteria, then I'd usually be okay going first. If it was a large trade, I'd ask them to break it up into 2 or 3 trades and they'd usually be fine with that. If it was a large trade where they couldn't do smaller trades(to lessen the risk), I'd use a middleman. Of course you can use a middleman whenever and I'd advise it if they weren't reputable, but do know that the majority of impostor scams happen with middlemen, so it's vital you understand how to trade safely on discord. I would also like to mention, if you just recently came back to the markets: many traders use Discord and if you are not very careful there is a good chance you can end up getting scammed.
