That really has nothing to do with being scammed.
Taking the proper precautions prior to trading does.
A UT will not make me trust you anymore than some decent vouches.
It's because Vouches show the history of your good trading not your UT.

So we should revert to no post count or join dates, no donator anything and no user titles whatsoever?

    I think not.

In your 2nd example the TWC should get the point across. Therefore making it the users fault once again.

They can just put it in their signature without donating a penny.

People just don't have to be stupid and believe it.

You can't get infracted from a UT anyways as 100% have to be admin approved to begin with.

I have to agree with Marrow, saying you are the best/no.1 or Highly Trusted as there is somebody always better than you. It is misleading and kind of annoying.

agreed, the honest truth is that a good majority of the users here seek out trust in titles.

I agree with you. New users may believe that these have been given by staff to trusted members.
We discussed about thread titles earlier, and figured that can put such things in their titles. The difference from user titles is that they look more official. But where to draw a line? Banning one word would just increase the use of another.

Maybe we like being called faggots?

I still think if you forbid this shit in UT you have to do the same for Sigs. (and avatars)

The difference is that everyone has a signature, and an avatar.

Titles are typically reserved for members who are trusted or the staff.

Atleast on the majority of online forums.

tbh i think your right there isnt much of a difference between highly trusted and no1 pin seller i think that they obviously know that theyre not but its not a big enough deal to make a change of it

It's misleading, but it all boils down to plain clever advertising. No support.

i dont see it as a big deal, its that persons own belife to trust someone its sythes own "reward" to donating something they get to have something custom for them. its then up to whoever sees/trade with them to trust them.

I totally agree with you, and same with postcount or join date...

I think some usertitle rules should be added because yes, it might misslead users. Nevertheless, I think it shouldn't be prohibited as it is just a reward for your donated money.

It's just the way of advertising. It's the same thing IRL with any product. Anyone can say their product is #1, but it can just be seen as a slogan and deemed not true. Advertising itself is one of the most misleading topics IMO.

Actually, highly trusted and #1 Pin Seller are 2 completely different things, no matter how misleading #1 Pin Seller is.

You cant have highly trusted because its a Sythe rank, #1 Pin Seller isnt a rank, last time I checked anyway.

I don't support, its just a marketing technique.
