User-Staff Committee

Nominations are being removed for applications, however the voting process will stay the same. Basically. We hope that users will look over the applications before voting so that it isn't a popularity contest, but we can't really control that.

 

Hey. I thought you guys may like a little feedback from a member of the community, so here it goes

First, thanks for suggesting to the staff we have a sports forum created. It's an addition that many members have wanted for a while. As I'm sure everyone has noticed it has hit off rather well.

Secondly, however one small issue I have noticed is that the USC lately has seemed very...quiet. After the hustle and bustle of nominations it feels like the USC have hidden away. The only "advertising" you have are your signatures. I don't think many people know that the sports forum is there because of you guys!

 

We're fine tuning at the moment. Our intention was to get the starter team and figure out everything we would be doing, and then making a big impact. Our entrance was also a little overly dramatic, so we figured the suspicions should calm down a little before we tried anything.

We have a few things in the works right now, the sports forum was just one of many discussions we have been having .

 

Ok apart from nominating people, what is the purpose of this committee?

There is no point to this...

All i see in this is regular members trying to make themselves staff through a hoax... This will not benefit the site in any way... User suggestions are already in order most ideas come from users anyways... bans are absolute and staff have that right... Issues, scam reports, and all that stuff should be concentrated to REAL staff members then they address it us....

Honestly i just see this being a giant waste of time and the people who are in it try and say there on ``user Staff`` so im trusted...

The word staff should only be directed or referred to actually mods...

 

I'm sorry you get a negative impression of us. We are here to help the community, and have already started doing so. We aren't trying to be staff members. We are doing things that benefit the community that the staff aren't doing or can't do. We are here to help and I hope you can look past your suspicions and understand that.

Even though I'm not part of the USC, I'm more than sure you are allowed to advertise for them.

But could you please show us some examples of how you're helping people.

 

They're still setting themselves up now, so they haven't done a whole not in the way of getting involved in the community. One thing they have done is pushed for the Sports/Outdoor subsection, which turned out to be a successful campaign! http://ww2.sythe.org/forumdisplay.php?f=537

We regret to announce that Deacon Frost, a Team Leader, has resigned from the USC and Sythe all together.

 

Great Idea. Fully Support. No nomination at the moment but I will be keeping a look-out

 

With the loss of Deacon and stress about Sythe's financial problems and me being horribly swamped with school work, this is being put on hold until I get some more free time on my hands to get it running smoothly. Sadly.

Support ^_^ People who pool together to help the community, are really helping all of us, not just themselves (talking to the people who say they are just joining the committee to become staff)

 

Don't give up now their are PLENTY of excellent members who would be good leaders. Teach them how and they can run the committee, their shouldn't be a small group of people leading as this would be counter-intuitive for the goals you guys have.
