Yes you may. You're loosing credibility by making this post in the community general section, nobody cares. You say you do most your work in the private section, unless you keep more private guides than public that's a lie. You want to know how to improve? Just asking that question is like shooting yourself in the foot, 50.cal styley. Fortunately for me I don't care what you think.. As for you, good luck.

Please don't think this is anything against the UE section, the UE section was a fantastic idea, and it's execution.. well.. This is against your, and people with your mind set who managed to let the UE section become the laughing stock that it is.

TALK LATUR

The only one who is making the UE lose credibility is you. An ex-HUE who is being immature...

@The Dark.. I don't know how you can say that?
Around 15 non UE Have filled out the survey and taken their time into completing it correctly. Obviously people do care or they would not fill out the survey. Do not say they filled it out for the +1 Post Count because it takes a lot longer to fill it out than to go and spam somewhere else and is not worth the effort for just a post count. Making guides isn't the only thing they do, they help around the community a lot as well, from what I have seen. How would this be shooting themselves in the foot? There is people like you that think of UE's as nothing so they are asking how can they improve to get more respect from the Idiots like yourself.

This is a battle you can not win because you are wrong and if you do not care what they think then do not come back and post with another stupid argument.

AMEN

be quiet no-one gave you permission to speak. Consider 15 rank hungry e-whores. o.O

Dark, you're just making yourself look foolish. If memory serves me, you were one of the "rank hungry e-whores".
Either provide constructive feedback, or don't post.

With respect, nothing you've said helps us.

There is so much truth in that post.

You're obviously only here to pick a fight. In turn, replying to you would make us look bad and tarnish our image. I won't go down to that level, and I hope no other User Educator will. Feel free to post on this thread, but keep in mind that you'll only be talking to yourself as not many of us Educators value your opinion.

Good to see you have it all worked out. L

At first I was going to flood you with comebacks and arguments that outweighed yours and make you look more foolish but after deleting that I realised that you are doing it all yourself.

I personally think the whole UE team are helpful around the whole community and many of them have larger things coming for them in the future.

I will leave it at that and let you post back once again most likely quoting my post and writing once again another miserable two lines that prove nothing..

In saying that I expect none of the above most likely I gigantic paragraph or maybe you realise it is time for you to just leave.

Nice you got comebacks!? Please do outweigh my points and make me look more foolish, Please.

I still don't care what you think.

You still want to talk about contradiction or are you quite finished?

If you want an argument, that's fine. But don't be giving me all this definitive shit, it's wrong.

Now that The Dark seems to have gone, does anybody else have any questions/feedback?

Hey Magic.

I have always wanted to become a UE myself , and have an application with 1 guide on it so far , but may I ask - What attributes do your guys look for when voting?

( If I'm even allowed to ask that )

Quality of guides, quality of posts around the forums, general politeness of users, attitude, association, and activity to name a few.

Read the tips on how to become a UE here: http://sythe.org/showthread.php?t=879581. You can also ask us anything via PM.

To add to what Necro said, there are two main factors I consider before voting on an application. Firstly, the need for that extra educator on the team. If we have too many educators, or just enough for that matter, we tend to deny that application. The second, is what Necro touched on, but I'll give it to you in simple terms, will you be an asset to the User Education team? It usually takes a subjective answer to answer that question, but as User Educators, we are each entitled to our own opinions on how things should work on the team. I can honestly say the majority of application are denied for the latter, when you become a User Educator you gradually learn that one users actions can create a negative image for the whole team, or that his actions may leave a positive notion on the rest of team.

Thanks for your question.

How do you perceive User Educators in general?
A group of like-minded individuals on Sythe that want to help their fellow man.

Do you consider them "normal users"?
More-so, yes.

Do you think the User Educators represent a positive image?
In terms of helping people, yes. But that is what everyone should do.

Do you think they should do more? If so, specify.
Nope. They're doing fine so far.

Have you ever considered applying/applied before? If yes to the former, please tell use why you did not.
I have multiple times but I am not well known enough to be one, unfortunately.

Do you think the User Education section is helpful?
Indeed I do.

What changes would you like made to User Education, if any?
More people. And remove the 3 application limit.

What are your thoughts on the current team?

Great, friendly people.

I cope, indeed.

Being well known is almost a non-factor. I rarely if ever take it into consideration when voting on an application. Users who are relatively unknown have become User Educators before, Influenza, Brendan W are two example. Think about it, if being a User Educator required being well-known, people like Farcast and Cosrob would not have been denied.

More people would make it more crowded and difficult. We have basic requirements to fulfill on the checklist, but the more people there is, the harder it is to complete the basic requirements.

How do you perceive User Educators in general?

Do you consider them "normal users"?-Yes

Do you think the User Educators represent a positive image?-Yes, it represents someone you can trust on Sythe.

Do you think they should do more? If so, specify.-I think the guides they publish are more than enough to help people out personally, so no.

Have you ever considered applying/applied before? If yes to the former, please tell use why you did not.-Yes; I did not because I'm still new to sythe and want to collect more vouches/post counts before I attempt to apply.

Do you think the User Education section is helpful?-Very helpful yes.

What changes would you like made to User Education, if any?-Make their presence more known, like put the User Education section up higher in the list of mini-forums on Sythe.

What are your thoughts on the current team?-I like them, I dont have much to say about it but there doing a good job imo =)

This ended up rather longer than I expected, so to add a slight TL;DR:

The UE section itself is useful, but my personal view is that the rank of UE is entirely unnecessary.

How do you perceive User Educators in general?
Personally, I see it as a pointless rank. Anyone can help out, write guides, etc, and there is no reason for there to be a special rank for some specific people who, to be perfectly honest, don't do a particularly huge amount.
Do you consider them "normal users"?
Yes, although they've been lucky enough to be awarded a pointless rank.
Do you think the User Educators represent a positive image?
Not at all. Anyone and everyone can/should be a user educator. Anyone who has the knowledge/ability to help could do so, and it's not right that some 'special people' are singled out to receive a rank.
Do you think they should do more? If so, specify.
I feel that they should need to do more to earn their rank. There may be something like this in place, so correct me if I'm wrong, but I feel that just as moderators must do their job well enough to keep their job/rank, UE's should also have targets to meet.
Have you ever considered applying/applied before? If yes to the former, please tell use why you did not.
I've never considered applying. If I want to help out/become active in the community, I will do my best to answer questions, help out, and other things like that. I don't feel that there should be a specific group of people who are specific 'user educators', and have a rank pointing them out as such.
Do you think the User Education section is helpful?
I feel that the UE section can be helpful, as it allows people to ask questions and receive answers, but I do not feel that the rank itself helps at all.
What changes would you like made to User Education, if any?
As could be guessed, I would like to see the rank 'User Educator' removed. If people are so happy to help out, or want to help out, they should not be doing so to receive a pretty rank, they should be doing so to simply help. I also feel that, if the rank were to be kept, UE's should be tasked with a broader job, or browsing most/all of the forums and answering questions/problems they come across throughout the forum, not just their specific section. Perhaps different UE's be given different areas to help in, just as different moderators are tasked to moderate different areas..
What are your thoughts on the current team?
I don't know any of them personally, so would not like to comment on them, but as can be seen I feel strongly about how useless the rank of User Educator is in itself.
Anything you would like to add goes below.
Clearly I feel strongly about the rank being useless, but I also believe the rank is being misused on occasions. The rank of UE, as far as I'm aware, is not a staff position, nor is it really any sign of trust, it's merely a way of showing that you are active and helpful to other members (generalisation of how I see it). However, having spent most of my time on Sythe browsing through the RS blackmarket, I've seen plenty of threads, mainly Selling Account threads, where UE's are using their rank to gain trust, for example stating in their thread subject area that they are a UE, or stating in their thread that they are a UE and therefore are trusted. I feel this is wrong, as UE is not related to the blackmarket, or even the site in general (as positions such as Moderator and Admin are), and so it should not really be used/abused in this way.
