Urgent paypal question.

I'm going to make another topic with more details soon, but the basic story is someone opened up an unauthorized claim. I obviously know that this person was in control of their Paypal account. The reason why this person is opening up a dispute is so she can buy a red partyhat before they go up in price.

For this reason, I'm going to wait as long as I can before I reply. I have 7 days and the dispute was opened on 7/7/11, so I have until the 14th. Would waiting out the full 7 days hurt my chances of winning the appeal?

In other words, does it matter how long I take to reply, is it one of the things that Paypal looks at, and takes into consideration when deciding who's right? I mean, I'm sure it'll look bad that it took me a week to reply, since if it was important, I'd have replied instantly. I hope not, because I want reds to go up as much as possible before this dispute is settled.

 

If his the buyer and you're the seller, it's VERY hard for you to win. PayPal always favors the buyer first instead of the seller and they hate to be asked about Virtual Items.

I've got dispute on me too and I took like 3-4 days to reply them. They didn't do anything though. Not sure what will happen if you go over 3-4 days.

This isn't the wrong section.. it falls under personal support. Go ahead and give all information you can, make sure to upload pics if you have any, and call them too, just talking to one of the people mite get them to favor you in the outcome.

They always wait the full 7 days before making their decision with unauthorized claims, so waiting or doing now doesn't affect the wait time.

 

Usually if you phone Paypal it works, this happened to me [I was seller he was buyer] and the dispute got closed.

 

If it's unauthorized, and the real owner sent you payment then no need to worry. Paypal will see that it wasn't a unauthorized payment.

 

if you don't refund her and you take it out as a dispute the other person account will probably get limited anyways so they wouldn't be able to buy a red phat :L but after you reply it can take like a month before they do anything further :/
