Ever noticed this? (Buying and selling items)

When you go to either the buying or selling items section for runescape you will notice this

if a member with below 80 posts, make a thread about selling like a blue partyhat for 2000$, like 20 people instantly reply on it to make the person add them, mainly people with 100-300 posts and like 10 vouchs.

but if a trusted sythe member makes a thread about selling a blue partyhat, eg a OMM, a Mod, or just a legit goldseller,there wont be as many posts even to his price is 1500$

yea its funny i look through the list and its pretty obvious whose trying to scam, sometimes its people with 4 vouches saying, "ill buy it since i have 4 vouches u will go first"

 

Exactly what i think, theres a fairly new thread about a guy selling a divine+a white party hat, he got a shit load of posts on there already.

if you check WeRnIs's (or how its spelled) thread you will notice hes also selling white but not as many posted since they know they cant scam.:huh:

Yeah, that's because the members with 10+ vouches know they can scam the newer guys, while they can't scam the people more trusted than them.

So obvious to tell who is scamming nowadays, and it's so pathetic.

 

I feel sorry for the guys who get ripped of their gp, ALWAYZ USE A OMM!

 

Obvious. They think because it's a newcomer = More chance of a scam. :\ Sad tbh.

 

most new members are younger pll without exp in trading on sythe so far. Therefore scammers don't add trusted members or reply on their threads when selling some item. Just a warning for all the newcomers who'd like to make a fair trade.

Haha, from that you can see that the ratio of scammers here is more so then legitimate buyers.

 

Its not all about scamming though. For ex if a newcomer(me) came to sell a partyhat for $1500 many people would try to scam. But if a moderator come and sold one for the same price you probably wouldnt be able to talk the moderator out of his asked price or scam him. With a newcommer who is new to the trading markets you mabye get $100 slashed out the price saving you loads of money. Most of those high vouchers are idiots who will curse the hell out of you for asking to pay a lower price, while you may get a more relaxed, less-expensive item for a smaller price from the newcomer.

 

You should know by now that atleast 75% of Sythe users are scammers.

 

Nobody said that Mods will sell it for like 20% higher so... I guess thats the price for safe trade, but still.

 

Older members will try to take advantage of newer members.

We must educate the newer members before allowing them to trade on Sythe. That will be the only solution to stopping scammers in their tracks.

 

I havnt been here that long and allready got like 5 people pming me about trades which are obvious scams.
