Worrisome! (Continued from "..Will I ever find what I'm looking for?")

So, I always hear how dangerous it is to buy an account from an untrusted member. So, I did it, ofc! The trade went smoothly, and I finally "Got what I was looking for." However, now I'm waiting for the recovery questions to dissolve. I set my own email, and changed the password, and have some of the older passwords (it was not originally his account, he got it in like 2005.) So, now, how long do I have until I can rest easy that this account will STAY in my possession? I DO have my seller's phone number, and have recorded the entire session of our trade, so I mean, I'm not tooooo worried. But all the same, how much should I worry, and how long should I wait before transferring cash over to that account? I suppose this is a "trial period" on my new account.

tl;dr for newfags: I bought an account from someone who is rarely on sythe, I have 99% of the account's info and the seller's cell phone number, and he seems nice. How long until I can trade my stuff over without being worried about recovery?

Edit: If you missed the last post, and are interested, here you go. http://www.sythe.org/showthread.php?t=1175479

Please leave a comment! Any and ALL are appreciated!
Also, I'm harsh on spam ;)

You can never rest easy and you can never secure the account. Wake up with the knowledge every day that it could be recovered. Should of just botted a new account yourself

How can you even guarentee you have 99% of the info if he is not the original owner? Did you even do a recovery test?

I tried to warn you and give you legitimate advice and you disregard it all.

After this account gets recovered, just bot one yourself

I should edit in that I have nothing but the highest respect for Kabal.
However, my decision was that of...thorough debate. I feel that the reason I bought an account may be a misconception, and it should be noted that I DID listen to the warnings I was given, and took them happily- with a grain of salt. I do not wish for anyone to feel as if their opinions do not matter to me; as they do. I just took a risk, and hope it works out in my benefit. Below is my original reply.

Very foreboding :3 I didn't have a choice. Needed those Ears and Scythe. At the very worst, I loose 30m or so from having an account recovered. In the end, what's 30m? Taking a chance is something that comes with playing on here... the only question is how do I work to eliminate the chance of being recovered on, I suppose. A huge bump to cross over is the 14 day wait. If other people were willing to bid on the account I bought, I suppose that others were willing to risk it. Somehow I doubt that the danger is QUITE as severe as the warnings I've read. We shall see.. hrmm...

Edit: AAAND, On top of this, I already DO have a nice main with 8 or so 99's, and a nice little pure I've been working on. Levels are never the problem with me; I only would BUY an account for the event items, or say, a 9 hp account.

Or I guess I might buy a lvl 3 skiller with 99 herblore, or a reset account with 10 def and barrows gloves and firecapes banked. Odd things.

    Don't worry too much.
Yes, the trader can always recover the account.
But some people are actually legit. I bought mine, it got locked, I couldn't recover it. So I talked to the seller, and he recovered it for me, and went through all the info with me again. Some people are actually nice, but whether or not they are, is what you should find out on MSN.

I think if there is no email, no recoveries, and it never had membs, then when you completely change the email and recoveries to your own, and set the first membership, you may take control over the original owner. (more information than they will have)

Thanks guys. And I assume that's only if you set up the membership with your debit card, right? That's a very good point, Mj808
