Version 1.7 is the latest, anything previous to it is likely to be vulnerable. Aside from 1.7, uninstall everything else.

Java 7 was the only thing that had the exploit. Anything from before java 7 is fine.

 

Other sites can infect you too I think.

 

Firefox should've recommended you to disable Java by now unless you use Chrome.

It didn't do it unless you went to this site which alerted you to disable it - http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/

It tells you to update it now, although I don't recall the browser itself telling you to disable/update it.

 

Nope it automatically checks that page on a 1hourly(not sure if it's that but you get the idea) basis and prompts you to disable and update.

 

Is version 7 update 7 the latest one?

Also, how can I check whether I have a RAT? Will a simple virusscan do the job?
