Update the banned guides list

Also, if what I was selling is common knowledge then surely I wouldn't get the feedback I did. People are still asking me to buy the guide all the time, and I got 7 payments in the three hours. It is frustrating that you lock a legitimate thread.

 

Although the rules DO state that any guide not following the rules is allowed to be locked (with a legitimate reason), I find that many guides are locked, that may be extremely profitable for the seller and for the buyer (depending on what the buyer is buying a guide for). In this case, I even bought the guide after the thread was locked. I fully support an update for the banned guides and his thread being unlocked.

 

I can take any merching guide you can throw at me and its on google somewhere, thats the point. Those guides don't have anything new as merching is one of the most extensively covered subjects on the net in all of rs.

 

Just because you sell it to someone who has never seen it before doesnt mean its not leaked or common knowledge. I imagine I can find a guide online and be able to sell it to people who have never seen it, but thats not the point.

The guide has been solely adapted to the new grand exchange and wilderness update. It hasn't been long since the new update and so I don't expect to find my guide anywhere in the free section. Would any of you consider verifying it and possibly posting it in the verified section if it seems worthy?

Also, sometimes free things that are good are still hard to find due to the mass amount of information on the web. Collecting all the good stuff and putting it together is apparently worth the money to a customer even if he/she knows it's free to get because finding that information is hard.

Similarly as to why people buy runescape gold - it takes up time otherwise. Buying it is easier than making it yourself but they both produce the same result, 1 million gp.

 

May I add that luring guides and staking guides are both just as easy if not easier to find on the web/youtube than a merchanting guide.

 

I havnt really heard other opinion on this, but I really dont see us changing the rule for being able to sell common knowledge anytime soon. Ill bring it up with a few other market mods.

However, DNS list has been cleaned, lmk if you see anything else wrong with it.

 

"How to get over 100% EP". The very first one on the list. There is also a sentence that Badger has posted at the top about clearing out 800 guides which is not needed since it is years old. And, can we continue the discussion of changing this rule here as I think it is now that this whole section needs to be wiped out and remade (guide section). I am going to think up a new solution to the guide section and show it to all of you later on. Hopefully it may prevent scam, uphold trust and allow a smoother start and end for both staff and members.

I have a solution pending in SL that would clean the section up and keep it organized in the SL if any admins will get around to looking at it : /

Thats fine, if there is anything different from mine that I like then I can try and add that into the one I have in SL. Closed for now since I think you are making a new thread in suggestions for it.
