Untradeable Holiday Items

While this would be great, it's not going to happen - I too believe I have read something where Jagex confirmed this...
Although, I would be interested to know if there was ever an exploit/glitch/bug that DID enable users to trade previously untradeable items...

 

I would not want sythe's, scarfs, etc. to become tradeable. it would just add more rares into the community, to many rares now.

 

Ehh it wouldn't introduce any new rares in to the community, considering they already exist and you'd just be giving it to someone else.

I still remember when the Drill Demon Random event came out, and the camouflage gear was tradeable - the prices SKYROCKETED, and Jagex had to make them untradeable - this was before the trade limit however, so people were paying close to 1mill for certain pieces at one point.

 

I think they will be, at some point.

The gap between phats and other rares has become ridiculous, and I think Jagex will have to implement some new rares simply to keep noobs happy.

As it is, if you start playing today, there is almost zero chance of you ever being able to obtain a phat without resorting to rwt... So, then, to give people something actually reachable to aim for, I wouldn't be too surprised if Jagex made the other old rares tradeable.

That's Jagex saying they regret the holiday item drops that were tradeable. I wonder what the christmas item of 2003 would have been if Jagex had thought of non-tradeable items earlier...

i think untradeable items should be sold for real life cash... this way jagex wins by making money and the players win by getting other items (if they want)

 

yea but it would kinda go against jagex principals of hating Rwt. Oh and everyone wearing them would get flamed with people saying they are noobs for buying the items, so people who have them from the actual events would feel pissed.

Well they have already charged real life cash for items... look at the wintumber tree, or the flagstaff of festivities. I really think my idea should go through... even though i wont buy the items now i might in the future

 

The announced the wouldn't due to people profiting of stuff like that, people started storing phats and jagex didn't like wthat and wanted everybody to have a fair amount of phats.

 

No i don't think there was such a bug...i do know that there was a bug where you could have 2 if i am right...but this has been fixed the day after.

I know jagex will not make all the untradable holiday items tradeable, however I do have to say, a game without rares would be no fun. Isnt the whole point of runescape to keep building on your account, as in your account in general; stats quests net worth? The road has to end somewhere. To me that would be worthless without the rares.

Yo man, I completely agree with you. But It would be nice to somehow obtain a scarf and hat. I AM ABSOLUTELY IN LOVE WITH THOSE.

 

It was POSSIBLE to trade all untradable item's about a week ago, but it got patched (along with the dungeoneering xp glitch being patched as well)
