Unreal Tournament 3 Hamachi Servers

Hamachi allows multiple computers to connect and act as a LAN.

The problem with hamachi most the time is you have to configure the internet connection protocal before starting the game.

Since hamachi is acting as a LAN everyone that joins the "LAN MENU" or "offline multiplayer" needs to configure the hamachi protocal correctly before the LAN will work. Your hamachi ip must be used ingame,otherwise your not using LAN ingame just your normal ip.

Notes:2a.Open up the Control panel in the settings of you computer.Then open the network connections menu.

At the top bar, under the advanced tap open up the advanced settings menu then move the hamachi protocal above your main ip.

Then restart your computer.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After reading the "Gaming over Hamachi" doc, and setting up your connection to work with hamachi.

You may have to disable the windows firewall"for hamachi" and in some cases you may not be able to use a router or wireless connection to play the game.
Disable windows firewall "At your own risk".

a. Click the startmenu, type in ncpa.cpl into the search field, click ENTER

b. In the new window, click "alt" on your keyboard, click the advanced tab, then click advanced settings.

c. In the adapter/bindings tab under connections, use the up/down arrows to relocate the "hamachi" network connection to the top. This will make URT3 choose the hamachi network connection as default.

d. Now fire up Unreal tournament 3 and host/join a game through the hamachi server.

New Windows Vista Hotfix

This is what we changed in Gears of War to make it work. I figured it would be pretty much the same since its on the UT3 engine.
The ini is called WarEngine.ini and is found in Gears of War\WarGame\Config. Also force the game to choose Hamachi in the registry.

Open up a new .txt document and copy then paste the following.

After pasting the text, Save as

ForcehamachiIP.reg

Then double click on the reg file to add it.

This hotfix is being used on all the games with the unreal engine. Mostly its needed for Vista users because vista automaticly picks the internet adpter thats doing the most load.
