Portugal decided to have a goal spree and deciding to shit on North Korea 7-0. Ronaldo finally got a goal (last goal he scored internationally was like 16 months ago). It seems like Brazil and Portugal are both going to qualify for the Round of 16, unless Drogba and the Ivory Coast decide to rack up 9 goals.

Spain plays in a couple hours. Get ready.

They didn't qualify. France and South Africa both didn't and SA was the first host nation EVER to not qualify to the Round of 16. Great day for Uruguay and Mexico though; they're advancing.

 

They needed that second goal from uraguay for south africa to be back in it.

Well, the US and England are both tied in the World Cup points wise.

Tomorrow is the day Group C will be finishing and announcing the teams that will advance.

Do you think US will come off strong and beat Algeria? or do you think they will lose?

Do you think England will defeat Slovenia? or do you think they will lose?

Or even more specifically; who do you think will be the two teams to advance overall in Group C?

US, and England will both win, However, U.S. Advances along with Slovenia, England wont make up the Goal Difference.

No real need to make a new thread for this one discussion, Hahanerd's thread covers it.

But basically, I see Slovenia and the United States advancing. I think the United States gets their act together and beats Algeria. Slovenia is talented enough to hold England - or at least not concede that many goals to give England the edge.

There is no difference in Goal Differential. The only advantage the United States currently holds is in the 'Goals For' category, which is the tie breaker - after Goal Differential.

United States: 3 for, 3 against = 0.
England: 1 for, 1 against = 0.

 

US hopefully take scare of business but you never can tell with them.

 

Yeah, the US sure is quite an unpredictable team. But I have to say, we've been doing a lot better than our last World Cup appearance.
