Is this honestly a shock to you though? England always plays poorly on the big stage, USA usually pulls a game out of no where.

Ironic part is the English have one of, if not the, best soccer leagues in the world, but they can't manage to get a halfway decent keeper.

The u.s. defense played like shit. God I've never seen o many open shots for the offense my entire life.

Like the announcers said, nothing but green acres for england on offense.

Tim howard saved the usa's ass multiple times.

C'mon, Feren. Gotta give credit to Robert Green. He's one of the best goalkeepers in the world. Just a little mistake he made, and I'm sure it won't happen again.

    Hopefully.

Spain's team looks the best this year and are my favorite team in the Cup. They have great forwards, great midfielders, a solid defence, and a beastly goalkeeper.

Let's just hope they don't fail like they did to USA a couple years back.

No, USA did not shock, they played shit troughout the whole match, the person who "shocked" was Rob Green. The goal was horrible to watch, I flinched. (I don't support either teams, but I did watch the match, and I feel so bad for England).

    España, and yeah.... I agree.

The USA didn't play that well, extremely lucky to get a draw.

South Korea were exceptional, I think they'll atleast make it to the quarter finals.

Didn't see the other game so I can't really comment.

It's amazing, there are a fair few Facebook groups ripping on Rob Green already - I can imagine there are many pissed off Poms in the world right now, as were some of my English friends that we watched it with ^_^

Nobody mentioned that the goal for the US wouldn't have happened if the England defense didn't give him a wide-open shot.

Exactly. This is one of the reasons why I think the US has supremacy in most sports.

We don't make excuses for are mistakes, or are loses. We have more heart and leadership.

the fact that england, a consistently very strong team tied sub-par USA? hardly anyone in the US cares about soccer which makes it all the more funnier. instead of calling USA's shot lucky and making exucuses because honestly at least howard wasnt stupid enough to make such a pathetic mistake. but i love england's defense. they didnt make any mistakes, they gave no WIDE OPEN SHOTS...oh wait... :D

To everybody saying the US goal was "cheap" guess what? It wasn't. As all players, the goalkeeper can make a mistake. If a defender gets beat, is the goal cheap? The goalkeeper didn't get behind the ball with his body, which was already a dumb move, and then made a horrible grab at it. It's a goal, and a good one. The USA played well compared to who they were playing against.

Well in "66 we had a draw our first game and still ended up winning so don't try make it out that it's game over for us!

For the above I wouldn't call that a great goal..at all.

Anyways plenty more games to come.
