Unmountable Boot Volume Error

Hi.

My brothers computer today has basically died. When we turn it on, it comes to a blue screen and has the error "Unmountable Boot Volume".

it runs on Windows XP.

I cant get into this fucking BIOS menu.

I have the option to press f12 and f2 when i turn it on, NOTHING to do with fucking BIOS.

I have the disks, blah blah.

If you have ANYTHING, ill fucking give you money via PayPal, i need help.

 

There are three causes to this problem. If you have the Windows XP CD's I would suggest trying that method first.

Put the CD in and restart the computer. Click to select any options that are required to start the computer from the CD-ROM drive if you are prompted.(Press any key to boot from Cd...)When the "Welcome to Setup" screen appears click "R" to start recovery. One you reach the command prompt type chkdsk /r , and then press enter. After that type exit and restart your computer. This is ONE solution. If the problem lies with the connector cable problem then replace the 40-wire cable with an 80-wire UDMA cable.
