Unhappy with recent UI denial

Once again you're on a power trip. Not only are you incompetent, but you fail to acknowledge your own undoings.

You declined my UI request which was:

"Too much color on the text"

Not only has that UI been approved before, I've had it for I think about a month now until I accidentally removed it. The primary color which is white is clearly visible, and the spots are not compromising that visibility at all. Green isn't a color that represents any usergroup, so your discretion has no base behind it. It's baffling how you continue to make inaccurate decisions, and then feel the need to support it by establishing your position. I told you not to touch my requests because this is the 3rd or 4th time you've declined the requests which were later approved by other admins. Clearly there is a misunderstanding on your part, and your part alone. I didn't donate $300 to have arbitrary restrictions put on a service that was never this strict before. I told you to leave my requests alone, and you continue to decline them after I told you to let it be handled by other admins. Are you a child? If not, stop acting like one.

 

That's not even as bad as mine.

I really hope this wasn't some kind of misunderstanding and N4N0 isint falling back into old habits. I really like how you haven't interacted with the community at all and have been doing "behind the scenes" work. It really removes the actuality of you fucking up with community of the website while you sit there and implement new features.

The color of the text is white, the effects are green. Not sure if blind or just in spite.

Like I told you for the 4th time, leave my requests alone, and let them be handled by a competent staff member. If you're right, you wouldn't be doing what you're doing now. It's completely immature on your behalf.

 

If you would have the artist lighten up the effects a bit, I would allow it. The effect covers the vast majority of the text, making the text appear green. Bleuskittle's for example, has considerably less of the effect covering the text, and the majority of the text is white.

Just chiming in for the sake of things:

Ghast, I know I'm in no position to have approved/denied that UI but I would have denied it also. Graphics artists seem to be continually pushing at the limits of the colored text and a stand needs to be made. For example I remember making a couple of threads jokingly congratulating numerous people for receiving mod when they hadn't based on the coloring of their UI (I remember one of Sellerman's UIs used to be quite pink). Personally I would have made the stand a while ago and adhered to the white/grey with minimal effects but it does clearly have a green tinge to it. Green also is the personal support user group.

(I hope this isn't misinterpreted as being aggressive or what have you, just musings made at 1 am)

 

This whole situation is entirely ridiculous.

There shouldn't be an argument in the first place because the UI was already accepted. If it has been allowed, it should stay accepted. Period. It's entirely asinine that someone can deny an already accepted UI. What type of precedent does this set?

Also the "pushing the boundaries" statement is a complete joke. People are literally donating hundreds of dollars to this site; this amount increases all the way up to several thousand. And at the slightest view of anything other than white in their UI (oh god the color police), they are shut down and turned away. The push for no creativity in UI's is pretty sad, and for a forum that struggles with activity, furthering the restrictions on the userbase certainly doesn't help the situation.


That is what makes someone a mod. There's no possible confusion there.

 

ALL OF THE TEXT IS WHITE. THE EFFECTS ARE GREEN. THE EFFECTS (FX) ARE NOT COMPROMISING THE TEXT TO THE POINT OF IT BEING UNIDENTIFIABLE, I'M PRETTY SURE THAT'S WHY IT GOT APPROVED THE FIRST TIME.

Let me explain how idiotic the argument is to limit the intermediate color (grey) to specific users.

These UI's are considered grey to the color wheel.




















What they're doing is giving ex-moderators more reign of choice when making UI's than those who've donated $200. Do you think they will remove those UI's from those profiles? Of course not. If I hadn't accidentally deleted the ui, this wouldn't be a problem, I can guarantee that.

Your argument is false, there is no green moderator usergroup that has been active for more than a year or two. If you honestly think anyone would be fooled by green polka dot effects on a white colored font, then all hope is loss. This site is already incredibly PC as it is, you're encouraging users to not use this site.

If I known that this would end up happening with this service specifically, I would not donate, and encourage others to do the same.

And I can't read your visibly on my mobile. Yours should have been denied to by that logic.

 

Just like I can't read your UI. It comes down to personal whim, which is why it was approved before. According to the rules, the color of text (which is white) must match my usergroup. I'm fully within that boundary. The effects aren't bad or overwhelming at all, unless you have vision sensitivity, and even then that's a personal problem.

 

Well nobody has complained about mine yet. If it's that much of an issue i'll change it lol.

Why are you getting so defensive? I'm saying I (me) cannot read your UI. I didn't say your UI is unreadable. If you honestly think I'm "whining for the sake of it", you clearly fail to see the issue here. I'm well within the boundaries of the rules in regards to UI stipulations. N4N0 wears glasses, so I wouldn't be surprised if he found the color to be overly sensitive to his eyes, thus the continuous declines of my requests, even though I told him over 5 times to let it be handled by another staff member.

I don't wear glasses and I find it rather green all over. Just giving you another community member opinion, seeing as it's such a major important issue right now on sythe.org. I hope my input has been beneficial to you.

 

The font color is white. The effects are green, and is not compromising the visibility of the primary color. Even on my phone at a distance of 65%, I can clearly tell my UI is white.

 

It comes down to personal whim, once again. It was approved the first time (if you haven't forgotten), and I've had no issues with displaying it for about a month until I accidently removed it from the usercenter, and tried to re-upload it. There are many who find no issue with my UI, and others that do. I'm following the guidelines, so this should be a non issue. I've tried talking to n4n0 about issues similar through pms, and it didn't work out. This isn't the first time this has happened, it's the 3rd in which a UI request he declined, was later approved by another staff member. I'm posting on his feedback thread to make light of this situation. If you cannot understand why I'm doing this, then it's best you don't add on to the mess.

 

This has blown way out of proportion; I'll make the text more white LOL
