We SERIOUSLY Need...

Report a Scammer Sectionals.

FIRST:

I know this has been suggested before, I know it's been denied before. I know it's on the do not suggest list. I'm ignoring all three of those things.



Why do we need this? To prevent scams.


GOOD EXAMPLE:


Date: 6-12-09

This thread was posted, accusing the user "flawk" (or whatever) of scamming. In my opinion, this is enough proof to get him banned. Therefore, we can assume, if the report was done by a RaS sectional, he would be banned, and not able to scam anymore.

Simple, if we had RaS sectionals, these scams would have been prevented, and these two users would never have had issues trading.

Oh and, before someone says this -

"What makes you think these sectionals will want to do the reports?"

Well, other sectionals keep their sections clean, so these ones shouldn't have a problem doing that either.

 

I do not support.

I don't believe we need new sectional mods...We need old mods doing them, atm there is a very successful suggestion about implementing the idea of them.

We could add more mods to several sections and have them do it, along with the old mods.

I've read a little bit of that, but the mods / admins don't seem to like the idea.

We all agree that something needs to be done.

 

1. Our existing sectionals don't even have the permissions for scam reports. They can't issue perm bans either (for the same reasons they aren't supposed to answer scam reports), but would certainly come before some new squad of 'Scam Sectionals'

2. Scam reports are tedious, and often ambiguous. As ambitious as users think they may be, most would burn out in a week.

3. It takes seconds to ban a user, but it can take days to negotiate his unban, especially when he doesn't dispute right away. The fewer mistakes, the better. Hence why we prefer older, more experienced members answering reports.
