New Rule

I am aware that several members of the current staff have scammed or done any other shady things, however in the future I think members should be automatically eliminated from being promoted to moderator - OMM - Other duties if they have committed a serious offense on here.

I strongly believe after you have committed a serious offense you lose your privilege to even run for such things.

Sure people might change however, why couldn't we have this rule implemented? Would make it a lot better in my opinion we have no need here for scammers or any other shady cunts.

Just as in real life, let's say you apply for a job at a bank but on your criminal record it says you have been charged with robbing a bank, would they hire you? No they wouldn't.

You see, that's my point, you fucked up and that's you loss.

A user should never continuously be punished thereafter being pardoned for their actions. This is a terrible suggestion.

Yes, I've heard of Dave and I actually know him quite well, and how is this a terrible idea? They have broken the rules, simple as that.

Even after serving after committing a crime in real life you are punished as you won't be able to get into certain things nor are you able to travel as freely as you used to be.

 

In New Zealand, there is such thing known as the Clean Slate Act. This enables an individual, provided they fulfil the criteria, to conceal their convictions and if asked they aren't required to inform potential employers that they have any convictions.

Like I said, you can't continuously punish somebody. Pardons are not conditional and as iterated by the rule that Ghast outlined, users receive full reinstatement.

 

I am very aware that this is a forum. I am calm this is just my suggestion. Last time I checked scamming (fraud/stealing) was illegal whether or not you do it in person or online, and quite frankly I don't see why we need it to be a part of this community. I think the pardon system is completely useless.

 

There should be no rule for this. When staff decide on a new staff member I am POSITIVE that they go through that user's history and then make the decision. Thus making it perfectly acceptable, it's not like your bad history is completely removed. Staff members are still aware of it.

No, there's a difference between stealing a gum when when you're 12 years old than stealing thousands of dollars. In my country you don't get charged for a crime if you're under 15 but it still gets on your record.

Lol. If you're not charged for a crime no conviction can be recorded. Only courts have the power to record convictions you spacca.

Jack Goff, N4n0, Dave are 3 examples of people changing.

 

Not only is this true, but a majority of the staff at one point were banned, or admitted to scamming petty amounts. People change, mature and grow older, so I don't think you should hold anything against them. I feel like someone's past is heavily taken into consideration when they are being put in positions of power so I don't support this.

.. and possibly even more. Point is, people do change. Pardoned users are apart of our staff and have made wonderful impacts to the site. Excluding them altogether from mod and OMM positions certainly is not the answer.

OT: I don't think this should be a rule as when staff promotes a new staff i'm fairly certain that they don't just pick a random name and promote him, it most likely is discussed extensively between them so I would trust their judment as to not promote someone who is a risk to the website
