http://www.sythe.org/help-requests/1833631-chargeback-through-bank.html

I made a dispute but a staff archived it and I am pretty that the link above this text is the reason why I got it. Some guy told me that it isn't twc worthy and I don't see the "reason" why I deserved a TWC and I didn't asked anyone to help me "commit a fraud" because I don't see it as a "fraud", I asked the Steam forums too and only thing that they told me is when I do it, my debit card will be restricted from being used on Steam and the account where the purchase was made will be locked until the chargeback has been reversed.

And I made that thread to ask you guys if how long is a bank's limit to allow someone to do a chargeback since the payment was made cos like I said before I asked people too about it and they at least their bank issuer would allow them to do a chargeback if the payment was made inside 6 months.

I'm going to sleep now hopefully when I wake up it better not be a ban anymore. I consider this to be staff power abuse too since there were no adequate proof to prove that I am a scammer or at least someone who should never be trusted and I was never also warned. smh.

The fact that you don't see it as asking how to do something illegal doesn't suddenly make it okay. Don't you think the response that "your debit card will be restricted" entails that you're probably attempting to do something you shouldn't be doing?

You're not banned, and no one's saying you're a scammer. You have the twc for asking about illegal things, so I think it's merited. If others want to chime in or think it should be reversed, feel free, but there is no legitimate reason I can think of as to why you should be asking about committing fraud from your position.

Okay I understand but you closed my disputes. Are you able to open it back?

Pls open back the first one

And also when I said that my debit card will be restricted from being used is that because a member on Steam forums told me that and they told me that I shouldn't do it but I could perhaps contact Steam Support and ask them nicely if they could transfer the game since someone had done it before but it was purchased on the wrong account so for me it will be unlikely to happen but I tried it anyway and they still haven't replied.

I don't think the TwC is correctly applied here.

If you receive a potentially defective product and aren't able to meet any kind of resolution it makes sense to contact your bank and have them reverse the payment. I'm not even entirely sure that's illegal, and even if it is that doesn't mean the user necessarily poses a threat of charging back for goods actually received. It didn't even happen, it was a hypothetical.

true, but this was his original post
Hi, how am I able to chargeback the money through my bank? I bought GTA 5 on Steam but it's not playable on my PC well not until I get a graphics card which will be on Christmas and it's still a long way. Steam didn't wanted to give me a refund since I had 20 hours on the game cos I idled the game through SAM but had the chance to play it after 3 days since I bought it (3mbps internet speed struggle).

I have asked some people on Steam and they said that that's possible to happen (chargeback directly from the bank) however I should be aware that my account will be locked. It would be fine for me since I bought it on my alternate that only has Fallout NV and GTA 5.

And also, I bought it on April 17, do banks have this "1 week" only policy thing? I asked someone from Yahoo answers and they said most banks let people chargeback money within only 6 months since the payment was made. Can anyone vouch for this?

EDIT: Just so everyone knows, they won't give refunds if the game has exceeded an hour of playtime.
he bought something on his own accord, knowing full well what it was. he played it for 20 hours. it's not defective, his reasoning is

and, given those circumstances, it's a sketchy thing to ask about, don't you agree?

---

in the future, post things like this in disputes. i've req'd this be moved there/locked

Then it clearly looks like you didn't read the whole post, like I said I idled it through Steam achievement manager (if you don't know what that is look it up), it took me 3 days to download the game (bought it on Friday and was able to play it Monday morning) and ever since I bought it, I idled it there.

And either way, it doesn't matter anymore, I'm going to keep the game and thanks for the tag. close pls.
