I'll jump right into it as we all know why this is here.
Specs to Determine # of Bots you can Run
In the botting world, you have to balance your RAM and CPU to avoid bottlenecking. I'll address this by client.
RAM - Pretty straight forward as you're simply looking at the capacity.
CPU - Bit more complicated, you have to take into account number of processes and speed.
*Cooling system can be stock for most of it, only if you're OC'ing do you really have to look at getting a better cooling system.
Yes, start the flame.
This is based on my personal experience - if you can give better numbers I can change it, these are the stats that will ensure no lag, although they could probably be pushed.
I've neglected to include TriBot, which has significantly lower CPU and Memory usage in comparison to either RSBuddy or Nexus. Also, by using the CPU reducing options on RSBuddy you can look to add around 2 or 3 bots onto the total.
Ways to Improve Performance for Botting
These are just some tips you can use to improve your botting experience, if you have anything to add simply post and I'll add it in crediting you.
Once again, I don't claim this to be an all-encompassing guide, this is based on personal experience so your figures and input would be appreciated.
How to Hide your Client
How to Hide your Client COMPLETELY
Hope it helped
Mods: I understand this should probably be posted in the guides section, but by the amount of "how many bots can I run" around here, I thought this might be a better place to put it.
Feel free to move it.
Specs to Determine # of Bots you can Run
In the botting world, you have to balance your RAM and CPU to avoid bottlenecking. I'll address this by client.
RAM - Pretty straight forward as you're simply looking at the capacity.
- Nexus - Allocate 500mb per bot
- RSBuddy- Allocate 250mb per bot
CPU - Bit more complicated, you have to take into account number of processes and speed.
- Nexus
- I5 [Gen1] will run 4 bots at 2.2GHz up to around 8 at 3.3GHz
- I5 [Gen2] will run 16 bots at 2.6GHZ
- I7 will run 3 bots at 2.2GHz up to around 16 at 3.3GHz
- RSBuddy
- I5 [Gen1] will run 6 bots at 2.2GHz up to around 10 at 3.3GHz
- I7 [Gen1] will run 8 bots at 2.2GHz, 14 at 2.67Ghz up to around 20 at 3.3GHz
- I7 [Gen2] will run 26 bots at 2.6GHz
- Powerbot
- I7 [Gen1] will run upwards of 24 bots at 2.8GHz
*Cooling system can be stock for most of it, only if you're OC'ing do you really have to look at getting a better cooling system.

Ways to Improve Performance for Botting
- Download CCleaner (http://www.piriform.com/CCLEANER) - Use this to clean registries (debatable) and free up memory.
- Go to start->run. Type in "msconfig", go to the "startup" tab. In this tab you have a list of processes that will start when you boot up your PC. Uncheck all of the processes you don't HAVE to use at the time of startup.
- Go to task manager (ctrl+alt+delete) - change to the "process tab". Click on the "Mem Usage" tab to organize in descending order. Right-click on javaw.exe and set priority to "High".
- Use a good anti-virus and scan regularly. I'd recommend Norton, it uses a lot of resources, but it ensures a clean computer which is more important. Consider AVG if you want a free anti-virus program. As suggested by gffr00b - Microsoft Essentials is a good alternative if you plan on keeping viruses to a minimum anyways as it is low on resources.
I would throw up Advanced System Care 5 up there aswell, it's a great registry cleaner IMO.If you want a usable machine while botting, reserve one core to handle your other processes. In Windows you do this by setting process affinity in task manager.

How to Hide your Client
- Download PowerMenu (http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/OS-Enhancements/PowerMenu.shtml)
- Right-click on the process in your start bar that you want to minimize -> 'Minimize to Tray'.
How to Hide your Client COMPLETELY
- Right-click next on clock and select 'Properties'
- Select 'Hide inactive icons'
- Go to customize and ensure that your icon is set to hidden when inactive
Hope it helped
