Hardxcore is somewhat on the right track... They both force air into the engine. More compressed air in cylinder = more fuel into each cylinder to create more power into each cylinder.

The turbocharger basically runs like a jet engine. It gets power from the exhaust system, and then the exhaust goes through the turbine etc. etc. Now the thing you were saying about higher top speeds with a turbo charger isn't really the case. Just when you are performing higher RPMs your exhaust system will produce more air. The turbocharged engine does make a cool sound though then you are giving it a lot of RPMs

The supercharger is ran through a belt that goes to your engine.
So basically if you look at your engine the pulleys and such like your water pump, and alternator work the same way. These basically cost more but give you a better instant boost since its running straight off of your engine.

its called a radar detector not cop radar, and in the cities a lot of the time they use lasers which can pick you up from miles away, literally undetectable. The only problem is with lasers is they have a hard time proving that it was actually you speeding, so the ticket wont hold up in court but the court will probably run higher than the ticket.

supercharge, my dad has a tuned 1988 M5 and the only thing its missing is a supercharger and a few little things =p Its still incredibly fast without it (400 hp)

depends alot on the car. mainly american cars are supercharged but turbo and super both increase speed in acceleration and top speed. turbo has just a bit more of an advantage in the long run but supercharged takes off the line a bit faster. all depends on the car. if i had a camaro, supercharged, if i had a lancer id turbo it

    Why would I lie? -.-
I don't get to talk about it anywhere else. It has no steering wheel so I can't drive it.

Also, you do know that not all 911's are expensive? Some 911's are like 20k.

just thought id say somthing incase some people dont know....
your current horse power (hp or bhp (some imports use bhp because its more accurat like subaru)) is influenced by the air preassure. so normal air pressure which is like 14pounds per square inch (google it if u want to know the exact ammount) so the more preassure you have more horse power. so the faster and harder you can get the air in, the faster you go. basicly how blowers, turbos, and such help. im probley wrong on some part, but my dad explained it to me and he knows everything about everything on cars

    Supercharger.
If you've got various other modifications (under the hood) then you'll get your speed increase there.

Plus the supercharger gives you that quicker acceleration because it's able to wind up faster and deliver the power quicker, which gives you a quicker jump off the line (given you're not old and you have a decent reaction time).

    Win/win situation.
    But, maybe I'm wrong :p

Why does anybody lie on the internet?

Because they can, thanks to anonymity.

You haven't said what kinda car xD

Also if you don't know about cars be ready to pay more for a turbo.
They are harder to install and a lot harder to tune.
