Sythe's 10th Anniversary
Hi! Recently after looking at myself in the mirror I realized I need to start working out again. I am 19 years old and have recently put on some weight.
Right now I stand 5 foot 10 inches tall with a weight of 210 lbs. I recently picked up a gym membership and have started working out but need some advice.

I am going to follow this plan for 6 weeks
www.muscleandfitness.com/workouts/workout-routines/6-week-fat-blast-workout-routine

And after I completely this I plan to follow this guide
http://www.muscleandfitness.com/workouts/workout-routines/complete-mf-beginne********ing-guide-0

But I am having trouble finding a meal plan and that's where I need some help.
Where should I look to find a good meal plan and do those look like good routines to start with? I plan on first slimming down and then trying to gain some muscle. Any help is much appreciated!

Imo the fitness plan could be more cardio focused implementing circuit training or something if you don't have any muscle to really preserve but eh.

The 2nd guide's link is broken

I'm far from a guru when it comes to food but I assume you know the basics about tracking macros and running caloric surplus deficit considering you worked out previously?

If you're over weight take my advice, shed off all that fat first, because you don't wanna gain muscle and then look in the mirror and see no definition at all on your body. Shed all the fat first, you don't need a meal plan, download MyFitnessPal on your iPhone and track your calories, usually people that are trying to lose weight aim for ~1600 calories a day, you could probably add 200 extra calories and still lose weight.

I suggest going on reddit's fitness subreddit and checking them out, they know all about weight loss and are a great help. Good luck man!

Bodybuilding.com look forward changing your eating pattern :)

(don't go too extreme might end up having light head and dizziness)

Yes indeed bodybuilding.com is very good site for you, since you want to build muscle same time

yea go to bodybuilding.com for any routine or anything like this. its not only bodybuilding, its general fitness too. But honestly I follow an IIFYM diet (bulking up) but its easy and hard at the same time. Eating whatever I want is easy, but keeping it within certain limits is hard. I basically plan my meals a day in advance....

So just completed day one of taking this seriously!

Decided on this workout plan:
http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/wotw12.htm

Today also marks first day of a stricter diet so wish me luck guys!

Started reading through the plan and stopped when I saw this

High protein (1-2g per pound of bodyweight)
Low to moderate carbs (low carbs on non-training days, moderate carbs on training days)
High EFA's
As little sugar as possible.
No carbs after 6 PM!

I am not taking in that much protein at all and going to keep taking in carbs, kinda sketched me out too but I don't know too much about this lol

Main thing to watch when you're leaning down is the fats and carbs. Sure there are diets which stress low carb or low fat etc. But without a healthy balance your body will not respond to the diet and in some cases gain more weight.

Try what you're doing for a while and see if it helps, don't skip over exercise because dieting is only half the battle. If it doesn't work out then try a new diet with different Macros to reach.
