Trouble making a skype for sales

I can make a skype account but I can't set up a unique username? Is this something that you can no longer do? Customers are having trouble looking me up by username

You can use the above link to make a skype account with a username. Skype no longer has this option on their main homepage, however.

Are you having trouble with the link? You need a phone number to create a skype username these days. The link should take you to the set up page.

It says sorry skype isn't available for this device yet. Then says what I can do is download the app

 

Have you already downloaded the desktop application?

 

well this was on my phone that i tried to do it on but yeah i do have the app on my laptop of course.

 

On the desktop application, you can provide your phone number and make a Skype username. So try using your laptop. When opening up the application, there should be an option to "sign up" so just click on it.

 

nope its still not working on my desktop.. its just giving me a automated username which is either the phone number i sign up with or the email address... this sucks.. ill figure something out soon!

You need to sign in to your account and from what I see you can do that but it doesn't make a unique username? Lmk if you need anything else
