Trap music anyone?

Recently discovered Trap music. I wouldn't say its mainstream currently but several dubstep artists are transitioning to it (perhaps in anticipation of it becoming mainstream?)

Are any of you guys into it?

If so it's okay.. I love dubstep but this seems a little too "quiet" for me, and there's just sounds all mashed together.

go to urban dictionary, all these dudes postin how trap music is "rap + edm" are all definitions made in 2012+, and all the real trap definitions i.e. "trap is what you listen to while selling drugs in the trap" are from like 04 n shit. trap like t.i. gucci ugk even

That trap channel is terrible, look up Trap City or TrapMusicHD before making up your mind, they have better stuff. Some of my favorite include:

Haha, urban dictionary is always good for a laugh. I have a differing opinion about edm "hijacking" the trap genre than you however. Most of the beats I have heard prior to the "invasion" were pretty basic with just a beat and some lyrics, nothing else. I need a synth or some other shit in the background or I just don't feel it which is why I like Kanye West's music (not his new album Yeezus though, that's fucking terrible lol).

More up tempo music/energetic is what I'd prefer over softer stuff so it was the first thing I went to put into youtube, that is actually so awesome.
Definitely will be looking up the rest of the stuff later.

 

Good to hear that you like it. There's quite a few interesting sub-genres within trap music that you can hear - well, within every genre lol
