Obby capes... did I shoot myself?

So if you check the graphs for obsidian capes, they seem like a great item to invest in. I bought 1700 of them for around 45k each a week ago. Now they're starting to crash again...?

Without bots, obby capes should theoretically go up, due to the high demand...

Should I panic sell all 1700 of them and lose like 10m, or wait for an inevitable price rise?

 

in my opinon people donm't really use them as much as they use to, i remember they were 200-300k a piece

 

Think about new players...

Majority of runescape uses obby capes because majority of them have no 99 skills. Obby cape is perfect for someone who has no 99 or high skills for other good capes. (obby cape being equal stat wise to skill cape)

The price dropped to 40k due to farming of the Tzharr area.

 

It's not in high demand and I usually bought mine for +5 mid since mid would never sell (that was like a week ago)

Sell them! I don't see anyone with those capes anymore and people farm at tzharr area.

 

97% of pures now have firecapes anyways, just dump em'

 

keep them. the reason they havent gone up is because people have been selling all their capes since they cant bot anymore.i see them rising within the next week.

Theoretically they should be rising, but maybe you bought them all for 45k each when they had a sudden extreme price surge with the "post bot-nuke panic". Because they used to be 20k from what I remember, and are 30-35k now so they have definitely gone up.

I usually buy 10-15 capes every month or 2 for Revs and other wilderness activities, so that I have a decent cape that I am willing to lose.

 

The GE rates fluctuate so much its nearly unpredictable. Logic almost doesn't work because we're all saying that technically/theoretically, the cape prices should rise because they're a good cape and without bots the area isn't flooded with bots purchasing thousands of capes daily.

I think your best bet would to maybe try and wait for a rise(which could take patience) but if its worth the money to you then do it. If you think in the wait-time you could make that 10m back + more, dump them and begin merching again.

I would keep them until they go back up which they should at least some but if the new bots people are creating go public I would dump them because that will be one of the first scripts people create.

 

You just need to know when the right time to dump is. Obby capes are a pretty popular merch, if you know how to do them.

4-5 years ago the capes were 200k-300k and pretty popular but since skillcapes + time duration (more 99's) they have gone down.

 

True but many veteran players have quit. The game consists more of people without a 99 skill due to the amount of players that join each day and begin to play. The fact that you can wear an obby cape at 1 defence makes it a perfect choice for any member without other requirements.

 

I would keep them and until I knew they wouldn't be rising.

 

Like people said, it should be going up soon. Just wait a bit and it will go back up.
