Okay, so im not overly sure how practical this is , or if there is a better way of doing it , but I was playing the other day and decided to see if it could be done. Mathematically it can be done , so i assume it should work.

Requirements
-------------
you can do this with any ammount of money , but to go along with the example ill provide below , lets say you start with 409k.
you need at least 30 smithing ( to smith steel bars )
you need some patience.
-------------

The Plan
-------------
Like i mentioned i dont know if there is a better way or a more practical way , but this is what i was thinking.
Iron ore sells in the grand exchange for 82-92gp a ore.
Coal sells for 152-170gp a piece.
Steel bars sell for 528-584gp each.
Keeping this in mind , if you buy at the average price, one iron ore and two coal , make a bar and sell it back , you have just turned a 147gp profit.
Now looking on a larger scale.
1000 iron ores at average price would cost 87,000.
2000 coal ores at average price would cost 322,000.
--------
409,000gp

1000 steel bars, sold at average price is 556,000.

556,000 subtract 409,000 equals 147,000.

That means you would would be left with 147,000gp more than what you started with. Then the next time you go back, you can get more ore with 556,000gp , and turn a bigger profit each time.

17.5exp per bar smithed. Multiplied by 1000 in our example, 17.5k for 1000 bars. Not really alot of smithing experience , but can be maintained with no mining at all(and we all know how annoying mining is).
------------------------------------------------------------

This might not help in the least, but i thought someone might enjoy it. So, enjoy =). C&C to tell me what to improve when thinking up these schemes.

EDIT : Was just looking at smithing mithril instead of steel , and with 1000mith bars, its 199 profit per bar. It seems to keep going up.

I assume people know about it as well , but i cant really find any good smithing/mining guides. Not to mention most people who go to sites like this to look at guides, arent regulars who know their stuff, and thats why they came here in the first place. But ty for ur comment ^^

Yeah , i hear a lot of people talking about this, good guide though.

i think smithing cannon balls is better, money and xp, but nice guide, although, bit obvious.

maybe add in if you could do the smelt magic thing

I might do this if RWT is too hard, and also I've always wanted a high lvl smithing.
