"Trading" sub-section in the Sythe.Discord

No support, discord is supposed to be for spam forum, adding limits discourages memes

 

No support, as an avid trader on Sythe.org I should be able to freely advertise all of my market threads otherwise I'm losing potential business. If other users want to complain they can advertise all of their threads as well, no harm there . It's truly unfair that there's an attempt of filtering my business and more importantly my livelihood.

 

What about pictures and double spacing? they're easy to abuse. Are those tactics allowed? It seems like you're segregating certain members of the community, which goes against the fundamental formation sythe is built on. Smh.

 

I support a change is needed. I think it's best that only simple text is allowed - and only 1 line (advertisement) per hour at the very least.

This is because with each link posted - discord features a sample of the site each time - which takes plenty of space and is not needed. My suggestion is definitely a step forward in the right direction so that the channel is actually being used for what it's intended for.

 

Put restrictions in place if you’re going to start giving us poscount on sythe and sythe gold for each post. Hbd @Talon

 

Seems like it would be hard to enforce. Also I don't think a single user actually uses the Trade chat to find what they're looking for. Why not just use the site?

 

Lmao this is true af. Not even sure why sellers post in this section, do people actually get customers from their adverts in this? I doubt it lol. The site is much more active when comes to trading.

 

It's more of something that catches someones eye when they're looking through it. People don't rely on the trade channel as their main source of advertising. It's just a small little thing that might get a costumer or two.

 

I support this, people just post text walls that I doubt anyone seriously reads, it'd be easier if it was just a post and then people could PM you for a link.

Have a discord bot set up for every 30 minutes or something and it's just a text wall since sythe gives you page previews.

Also there should be a restriction about spamming a message in multiple channels.

There's been a kid going around as of late trying to get people to advertise on his new forum and he posted in every section available.

 

Yeah I'm not saying that we should get rid of the sub-section.

My point was it seems just too much of a hassle to implement these rules in a place that garners little traffic. Let the sellers post as frequent (or w/e the rules are in this regards) as they like.

Now if this marketplace was actually active I would assume it would get annoying with all the "spam" and that it would need slight regulation, but this is not the case.

 

I do support this, I feel like it'd potentially maybe some what be used more if people didn't just spam a big wall of links constantly.

It'd give people a reason to look at the #trade channel cause they'd see more things then just the same links/posts over and over.

I agree with this.

 

people spamming links there discourages me from looking at that section at all, i doubt anyone else bothers to check those links anyway. I can't really think of a solution that would make a noticeable change without lots of people getting butthurt. The only options i can think of is increasing time limit between posting or disallowing links at all (would be a lot cleaner to look at, but spammers would get mad)
