I'm a pretty old school guy, so I'd have to say;

Armored Saint, System of a Down, and, uh... Megadeth? Lamb of God are pretty decent too, for a new band.
 
Arch Enemy, Annihilator, Anthrax, Nightwish, Pantera, Opeth, Megadeth, Black Sabbath, Blind Guardian, Dimmu Borgir, Dream Theatre, Dream Evil, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Soilwork.

There's more but I couldn't be assed.

Slipknot= streamline/lame.
BFMV= Hardcore, lame excuse for it anyways...

SOAD are old school?

Lamb of god are decent, i don't listen to much metal.
 
DragonForce, Trivium and Lamb of God.
 
ROFL Linkin Park is not metal.

I like Iron Maiden and SOAD, but I don't really even like metal a whole lot. I like most of SOAD's stuff though.
