Time Lost Drake Mount Strategy - will this work

Time Lost Drake follows 3 different routes where it can be found and is hard to find. Every 30 minutes it pops up on one of the other routes:



Strategy:
- Get together a basic 5-man team (1 tank, 1 heals, 3 dps)
- Have one man take northern route, 1 man take east route, have other 3 scout went route (the large one: one starting at lower part, one in middle and one at top)

My friend used a different strategy were he got all people just to follow one of the smaller routes untill he spawned in that one.

Which would be more efficient?

How do you know it respawns every 30 minutes? I thought it was like some super uber rare mount to get :S or atleast thats what I got told when I started playing again, never been able to find it.

 

My guild leader timed it and found that it will automatically change routes every 30 minutes and is a 6 hour minimum respawn. My guild leader also has the mount

Also it has the same flight path as Vyragosa, and the TLD cannot spawn if Vyragosa is alive

so to sum it up...

the 1st spawn however is very random, and there is a better chance of it happening on Mondays, Wednesdays or Fridays (so ive been told)
once it spawns it will take the 30 minute routes until it it is killed.then following takes a minimum of 6 hours to respawn

 

Thanks for the route,been searching for this mount ever since I got CWF..(Which has been a REALLY long time) I wanna get this one,because I bet when cataclysm comes out it'll be rare like one of the TBC mounts.

There is an addon called _NPCscan. It makes an extremely annoying Beepy sound when the mob is spotted within range

 

whats the most efficient way to get it by yourself? i have ony drake but this one looks nice too

 

really depends what class you are.
hes an elite w/ 18,900 health. probs no problem for pally. But if Vyragosa is alive, i believe she is 200k health, that will need team.

 

Why do you need a tank, healer, dps setup? You know you can solo it right?

 

It has 18.9k hp I think.. How you sposto attack it if its flying? Sorry i just don't know much about the mount.

No she doesnt have 200k hp...Vyragosa 18.9K (Killed it 2 times...really easy) Besides you really have to be lucky since TLPD has a shared timer with some other Rare NPC's and it has a random respawn time (so no 6 hour like said...its random)

 

I've done more research on this mount than I believe any other has. Your calculation of TLPD spawning every 30 minutes is false. It spawns based on luck, and for the most part, it happens after Vyragosa is killed. It's spawn time can be anywhere up to 6 hours after Vyragosa if lucky. I tried tracking this mount down for 30 days. I saw TLPD one time, however, but I missed the agro by accident as I was not prepared and someone else was able to kill it first. I was very disappointed. Also, there is a brew of some sort that allows you to float safely to the ground. As a Rogue, I've had a macro created to use fan of knives followed by the brew. This would ensure that I would pull agro and then be able to fall to the ground where I could then fight it. If TLPD still flew in the air, I'd still be able to kill it by throwing my weapon at it. The kill wouldn't be too quick, but I could get it done, as I practiced this on Vyragosa.

TLPD has a few special attacks as well, which one must take account of. In failure to do this, you have the possibility of dying. Paladins have the best chance of killing this beast, however, as they have great defense and can heal as needed.

There's much I haven't listed here, but that's for you to investigate. Best of luck in your search of TLPD. Just make sure you rest as well.
