Thoughts on this cpu?

i already bought the cyberpowerpc gamer xtream vr desktop iten core i5 8gb memory nvida geforce gtx 1060 1tb hardriver from best buy because i have $900 worth in gift cards.

was this worth it? My friend just told me to buy this.

I only play like league and 2k17. But I want to branch out into other games

if its the i5-6600k processor, you'll be good for quite awhile, it was just released and i'd call it a good tier processor in terms of what it functions as, however ryzen did just come out and one of their processor probably beats this in terms of performance per dollar.

It should be handle to play all games you throw at all along with your gpu, and i doubt there will be any kind of bottlenecking occuring if you're worried about that considering how strong both of them are.

It's fine. I'm not shocked by the price you paid. If you had built your own you might have only saved $20-50 depending on component pricing and might have been able to get more RAM or a small, additional SSD in there. As Jack brought up though that depends on the i5. It's probably Skylake. If it's Haswell you got jipped (Haswells are still great, I have one in my desktop still myself, but it would reduce the value of the machine you bought).

I'd put a 120gb SSD in for ~$50. It'll make your OS and League boot like a champ. Bak when I was really competitive il LoL it was a godsend because if my computer died or the client crashed I was back in in less than a minute.

I would build you next one though. I have a similarly performing computer I sent $400 on using Jet coupons and credit card cashback

 

Seems like an okay price, I have a similar build that cost me $600 including an SSD, however it has the previous generation of GPU - GTX 960. I'd recommend looking to buy an SSD for your Windows OS, other than that, nice build.
