People who have been granted a pardon tends to have a better chance at staff.

Ive been thinking for some time how I could get banned, doing something not bad enough, and be pardoned for better odds at mod.

 

Or perhaps activity + attitude adjustments.

Nah, the staff who approves if someone gets pardoned also decides staff. Anyone that gets pardoned has been thought of and kept a closer eye, gets noticed by them. I mean only way you would pardon someone is if you believe they have changed and/or if you trust them to an extent. All thats left is activity and maturity.

Two type of people get pardoned: Those who got banned for little stupid shit and those who the staff already know. The first group doesn't get staff. The second group does. Not because they were pardoned, but because they are known. That's what it really comes down to.

It also helps that if they were pardoned, the staff think higher of them than others or they wouldn't have been pardoned in the first place.

 

So it's not the pardon that is making them get staff even though is may very well be a correlation.

 

Yeah, i meant the 2nd part of what you said. Because rarely anyone needs to pardoned for a small reason, usually settled in a dispute. Id say it has its role in catching the eye. But spot on.

No body knew who I was when I got banned. I didn't post in the community and only did petty sales until late 2011. I think my promotion had more to do with the OGV.

 

I remember when you got banned, we were pretty even on posts, I think it was below 1k.

When someone gets promoted its like they get access to a private forum where they can spam all they want to get more post count. I feel like gohan found it before he was staff.

 

There's also the part where I've always been about 10x as active than you on the forum. Also bumping shit. That gets you the postcount.

I didnt state my pc to show my activity, its all I remember basing your post count off at that time. If you werent talking about that, my activity is never steady.

Few examples of what I was talking about is you, roary, shoop, superman. Just shows that you guys were the right picks for staff, took your roles seriously and upped your activity a notch.
