This Girl

So I've been friends with this girl for about 6 months at least. She's not a popular girl but she does talk to a lot of guys. I've liked this girl for about 5 of these months, I've told her how I've felt before about 2 months ago and now it's kind of a running joke between us. I feel like this is the only girl in the world for me, and the reason I'm not scoring this opportunity is because I'm not the best looking or the fittest fellow in the squad. Whenever she's sad, whenever she has a problem, I am the person she goes to. It's that close of a relationship. I need help on getting this girl the way I am. I mean we're best friends basically, she has no other 'guy' friends and like one girl friend. She always comes to me with guy troubles and that too, it's kinda annoying to a point but I go with it. Can someone give me advice on how to score this lovely lady?

Unfortunately, it sounds like you have fallen deep into the friends zone Girls at a young age can be quite shallow sometimes, and therefore they may spend tons of time chasing these jerks who treat them like shit, when there is a perfect guy right in front of their eyes the whole time. You are that guy right now.

If I were you, I would make it very clear to this girl exactly how you feel about her, and that it is NOT a joke. You are often there for her by lending her a shoulder to cry on, or an ear when she needs to talk and/or vent, but you should try making some gestures that are more romantic in a sense, so that she knows that you like her and that you are serious about being with her.

If she still doesn't respond to you after you make it clear to her how you feel about her, then maybe she just isn't the right girl for you after all.

Like I said before, its a sad fact that many younger girls are extremely shallow and seem to always go for guys that either treat them like shit, or don't like them back. Maybe its just that they want what they can't have or something along those lines, I really don't know

The truth is that you don't really want a girl like that in the end man.. I mean you guys may be great friends, but if she knows how you feel about her and she doesn't appreciate everything you do for her & like you back, then unfortunately there is realy nothing you can do for yourself except move on from her, or else you just end up getting hurt.

Maybe in the mean time you can start working out, and doing a few things to improve your appearance & self confidence, and let the way of the world unwind itself over the coming years. In the end, those kinds of girls always feel so stupid when they realize the "prize" guy was right in front of their face the entire time, and that all the other boys they were chasing are complete losers. By that time you will be getting tons of ladies too, after you move out of the shallow highschool atmosphere.

Edit: Yeah on topic, it's hard to say what you should do. Focus on bettering yourself, you call yourself less than average looking so perhaps improving self esteem would help you out? Intelligence wins in the long-run so hopefully you've got some of that, haha (just messin)

How can one survive the scrutiny of others without first staving off their own self-criticism?

EDIT: I think I might actually go for it and lay it on her, it's the holidays. What's the worst that can happen right? If shit goes sour I have pictures of her that could sweeten the situation. I'll throw it out on the table and if she doesn't want it, she isn't the girl for me. Maybe that way I'll enjoy my holiday a little better being away from civilisation for 10 days.

In all honesty I am a below average looking guy and I have been with a few good looking girls. A good tip is drink that always makes girls more attracted to you. Another would be to show her how much she means to you for example take her out or just spend time together.
