I noticed just a few minutes ago he got the banned status, but I don't see a 'report a scammer' report. So what's the reason for the banned rank?

If you look at bus's appeals they claim that he was stealing customers from other gold sellers.

Curious though about his ban -- it doesn't seem like what he was doing was against the rules. Furthermore, his disputes were ignored when he pointed that out. I don't remember the title of the thread, but I believe that it was previously discussed and confirmed by staff that said business practices were absolutely allowed in a free market (as long as the user doesn't disrupt the threads of his competitors).

Right -- but it's explicitly absent of the rules (per the denied suggestion to make it a rule).

 

He specifically targeted ME, his previous employer, by PMing people on MY thread. If he had just said "beating competitor rates" via PM that is fair game, but since he directly targeted me I decided to report. What he did was extremely unprofessional.

I also explicitly told him to stop directly undercutting me (which he agreed to do)- sure it's fair to say hey I'll provide the best rate, but when there are other gold sellers selling as well, I think it's very hostile to say "I will beat X's" rate - it's just bad business practice.

 

Once again, it's already been established that this is fair game. If he can offer a better rate than you, then it stands to benefit the customer for them to know that. If you want that customer instead of him, beat his price back. It's not rocket science.

 

Is there a reason we don't add it as a rule if we're going to enforce it? Free market stuff is great, but when the market is so free that people discourage customers from posting on their threads due to fear of them being sniped, there is a problem. We should be promoting a healthy marketplace, not one that becomes sort of restricted by hyper-freedom, if that makes any sense.

The alternative is Xier0's plan... ditch the rule, remove the ban, and get on with it. Either way, it would be good if something changes to either fully support/deny Sebas's suggestion with consistent enforcement to follow.

 

Lawl never thought I'd find this stuff in spam forum. But I agree with this statement 100%. Really takes away from the credibility of the rules that are pretty well laid out for the most part if we start banning people for reasons that aren't there. I haven't heard of any mod/admin voice their opinion that the ban was unjustified, so why not make it a rule? Would seem obvious to me.

 

I got started by pming people and lowballing everyone. This is fair game and profits the customer.
