~!~Bows And Arrows
There are many different bows and arrows you can use for range. This includes shortbows, longbows, composite bows, crossbows and more. I will put them all into a table:

Willow-------Mith-----------------20
Maple--------Addy-----------------30
Yew----------Rune-----------------40
Magic--------Rune-----------------50
Seercull------Rune-----------------50

These numbers (Not crystal) apply to shortbows, longbows, and composite bows.
Crossbow-----Best Bolt--------Range Lvl
Bronze----------Bronze-------------01

Iron---------------Iron----------------26
Steel--------------Steel---------------31
Mith----------Mith/Grapple--------36

Crossbows (Besides Karils) are slower then normal bows, but hit higher. Finally, onto tipped bolts.
Bronze----Barbed & Opal
Iron--------Pearl
Steel-------Red Topaz
Mith-------Emerald & Sapphire
Addy------Ruby & Diamond
Rune------Dragonstone & Onyx
Those are all the bows/ammo you need to know, onto training.
~!~Intro To Training~!~
Training is the fastest way to improve your range level. To maximize your xp, you must know the best spots to train at each ranging level. I will tell you where you should train at each level and post this about the monster:
Name:
Level:
Hp:
Where:
Drops:
~!~1-20~!~
Ah... the first levels of range. There are a few monsters I would kill. The first is chickens. Chickens drop feathers to help pay back your arrows, are low leveled, and can’* hit on you.
Name: Chicken
Level: 1
Hp: 3
Where: Lumbrigde of Falador Chicken Coop
Drops: 5-15 Feathers
If chickens aren’t the thing for you, I would try cows. These can hit on you, unless you shoot them over a fence. Also you can make some money off of them.
Name: Cow
Level: 2
Hp: 8
Where: Lumby or Falador Farms
Drops: 100% Cowhide which are 130 each.
If neither of these work, just use men. Bad drops, safespots, low def.
Name: Man
Level: 2
Hp: 7
Where: Jolly Bar in or Lumbridge
Drops: Coins Fire Runes, Arrows, CLUE SCROLLS
Do any of these until 20 range then move on.
~!~20-40~!~
Level 20-40 is a lot easier than 1-20. High hits, better weapons, and better monsters. The best thing to train on is minotaurs. They can be safespotted, and drop iron arrows, so u don’t lose as much money.
Name: Minotuar
Level: 13
Hp: 10
Where: Stronghold Of Security
Drops: Iron Arrows (7)
If these aren’t for you, and you are a member, u can take a shot at rock crabs. They are low lvled, high hp, but high-pop. Many people come here, and will take your crabs.
Name: Rock Crab
Level: 13
Hp: 50
Where: Relekka
Drops: CLUE SCROLL, seaweed, oysters
These monsters are your two main things to kill at level 20-40. If you don’t like them, try scorpions with a safespot. Beware, they got high def. I wont post about them, because I don’t reccomend them.
~!~40-60~!~
Ok, now I would try rock crabs for real. You can hit high enough people won’t steal them, giving u a lot of good xp. We all don’t like rock crabs, so I will give you some other options. Hill giants. These guys have low hp, good drops, and safespots, a great place to range.
Name: Hill Giant
Level: 28
Hp: 35
Where: Edgeville dungeon I suggest
Drops: Limpwurt roots, Big Bones, Some Runes
Another option is Moss Giants. Higher than hills, more hp, but better def.
Name: Moss Giant
Level: 42
Hp: 60
Where: Varrock Sewers or North of Ardongue
Drops: Rune, Gems, Arrows
If neither of these work, try Ogres. Great seed drops, but are agressive and will hit you if you have low def.
Name: Ogre
Level: 53
Hp: 60
Where: King Lathi*s Training Ground, by Caslte Wars
Drops: MOST HERB SEEDS, plus more.
Ogres are same hp as mossies, high lvl, better def, but better drops.
~!~60-70~!~
Right now, I would go with experiments. Find your own spot and range away. There is a safespot for one grouping of two if you need it. You must start creature of Fenkenstrain to acess these.
Name: Experiemnt
Level: 25
Hp: 100
Where: Fenkenstrains Dungeon
Drops: None
There is really nothing new but experiments, you can use lower monster, mostly ogres and rock crabs.
~!~70-99~!~
NOTE: These two monsters are decent for 60-70 too.
OK, now you have two options. The first are fire giants.
Name: Fire Giant
Level: 84
Hp:111
Where: I suggest Waterfall Dungeon
Drops: Rune Scimmy, 2h, kite, square, D Med, D Left Half, Half Key, Lots of runes, Gems, Big Bones, D Spear
For fire giants, use normal arrows. There is a spot in the melee room where av** attractor/acculator works.
Ok, say you have a crytstal bow to train with. Then, go with blue dragons. These guys are to help make the money back to pay for your expensive arrows. This is faster xp, but you must sacrafice time to bank. Only do this if you have 70 agility. Then tele fally, and use shortcut into the Taverly lair. If you can’t they aren’t worth it.
Name: Blue Dragon
Level: 111
Hp: 105
Where: Gu’Tanoth, TAVERLY
Drops: Dragon Bones and Blue Hide 100%, CLUE SCROLL lvl 3, D Left Half, Half Key, D Spear.

~!~SPEED TRAINING~!~
Thanks to Sooth Etg for this guide. I totally forgot about them.
Red Chinchompas: 65-99 (expensive but over 200k exp hour with practice)
Requirements:
Ranging Level: 65+ (85+ for best results)
Prayer Level: 43+
Items:
Red Chinchompas
Prayer Potions
Ranging Potions
Sharks
Teleport item
Red chinchompa's attacks are a splash damage damage attack much like some ancient magick**, they effect in a 3x3 square around your target. The most effective place to train with them is in the monkey madness tunnel which is reached during the monkey madness quest. Inside the tunnels you find groups of skeletal monkies who attack with melee. Find an area in the tunnel with your back to the wall (under an overhang is best). After going to your spot you turn on protect from melee and use a range pot so you get more exp from hitting more/higher. After you start killing the monkies more and more start popping up from the bones. You will be getting more exp per chinchompa after you are there awhile. If you hit 9 monkies you will be able to get an upwards of 500 exp per chinchompa used resulting in way over 200k exp/hr. When you run out of ppots or chinchompas, teleport (1 click is best) and restock then return. In town there is an altar and you can alternatively kill the monkies there, slower but you never run out of prayer.
~!~TIPS~!~
->Always use a safespot if you can
->The better metal an arrow is, the faster xp, but will always be more expensive.
->Always use av** device if you have it.
->You need around 1.1 million bronze arrows from 1-99 withot picking up. You only need around 300k picking up.
->The better drops a monster has, usually the worse the xp. Always get a monster with decent drops and xp. Don’t go for just drops or just xp. Just drops gets u bored. Just xp gets you poor.
