The truth about paypal donations

They can still donate via mail. This would have no negative impact; only positive.

Also, isn't it possible to be able to receive donations directly from through the phone? I know some other sites have that option. I mean, where you text "Sythe" or something to some number, and it will charge money directly from your phone, which will go to Sythe?

This has nothing to do with PayPal, though, but it was just an idea. But grave's idea is good in my opinion. I know that I wouldn't have any problems waiting 2 months for a rank, at least. I mean you are mostly donating to help Sythe, right? The rank and perks can wait for the safety.

If the person that was chosen to run the donations would talk to me (obviously if this was put into effect) i could give them step by step on how to not get chargedback, and if you did then it wouldn't be that big of a loss. There are steps to take so you dont have to way 2 months. Waiting that long is ridiculous, and the amount of people that complain on waiting more than a week way outnumbers the people that will wait.

There is no way Paypal will work 100%, but if there are more options to get donations, this should be one way, it's the most popular online payment site...

There are risk, I understand, but there are also things we can do against those who would chargeback!

 

Of course it wouldn't work 100%, nothing ever works 100%. You can do things and take steps however, to make everything to the minimal.

A 3 day wait isn't too bad, tbh. Person sends money, and you instantly transfer the money to your bank account. Even if the person does a chargeback, the worst that happens is your paypal goes into the negatives. So just get a new paypal account.

There will be no getting new email accounts/paypal accounts. Everything will be done legitly. The person that does it must be cc verified, address verified and bank verified. Were not in the shady business Deacon.

 

Word. And still, people can get inbounds on a VOIP and just use that. Not to mention, sythe's PayPal risks limitation and other factors.

 

I was gonna mention that also. To get a new paypal, especially one tied to a bank account and cc is a serious pain in the ass. Not to mention it looks shady anyways.

I don't care about waiting for 60 days etc but I can see the million whiners on the other side. But it would be clearly stated beside the donation method so they can't complain.


Also NOBODY who donates should have a problem with the 60 days or X days rule. Aren't you donating to a site to see it keep going and help out the owners a little bit for providing the site for you?. I'm on a few popular mustang sites and we take donations all the time just to help out members who have family in the hospital etc...

Anyways I'm 150% for it. If it happens I'll zip a few bucks through instantly. If not I guess the mail will have to do.

 

But what people don't understand is the max time you should have to wait is 2-3 weeks. There should not be waiting of 60 days, as that is ridiculous. I did it without any problems, and raked in over 2-300$.

Also, the only way people are going to donate is for the rank. That is the only real reason people do it. Ranks are like post count, it shows trust. The more ranks, and higher they are, the more trusted you are.

 

I support this it would be so much faster and easier. if the person chargebacks or an event happens that the money is refunded just take off the rank so you guys wouldn't really be losing anything. it is easier also because people dont have to pay for the envelope + stamps.

 

If the money is taken back at any time after it reaches the account, the person should be instantly banned.

 

How much supporters you estimate we would need for this to happen?

 

We don't need any supporters, sythe already knows that paypal is the biggest payment method on the site. In order for it to go into effect only sythe can approve it as he shut me down last time.

Donating is more of a privilege than a right, and 2 years ago or so the community showed we couldn't handle it.

I think we have a better chance getting Runescape Mils as a donation back.
