The servers are shit.

It's only just started happening to me the last 3 - 4 days.

But as this happens from time to time in the years i've been a member of Sythe.org.

 

Quit bitching, Sythe gets attacked all day, Sythe and Matthew put so much money and work into trying to stop it.
Feel free to donate 2-3 grand to help out, otherwise, shut the hell up.

Also you do realize that there are OTHER things to do rather than sit on Sythe all day.. If the sites down, go play a video game, or hang out with a friend until they can fix it.

 

I could be wrong, but i'm pretty sure the botnet attacks have ceased for awhile now.

 

I don't really keep up on what happens, but I've been here for over 4 years, and I can remember being attack quite a lot, especially lately. But ntl, people shouldn't complain, only help, or move on.
Complaining to Sythe and Matthew isn't going to make a spark go off in their head and say " We should fix this with money we don't really have"
I think I believe I read on a thread by Sythe or someone, is that the next level up on servers or whatever, that can help against most of these attacks, is like 13 grand or some stupid amount of money. Don't quote me, That's just what I recall.

Well.. I'm pretty sure the servers AREN'T shit. Sythe makes thousands of dollars a month from ads/donations, and he said he doesn't make any profit off of Sythe.org, so he's not pocketing any of that money. That means that thousands of dollars a month are being used to pay for the upkeep of the website.

Doesn't sound like "shitty servers" to me. Yes, it's frustrating when it takes 10 minutes to post one thing. We've all had it happen. But I don't see you donating anything to help out.

 

Yeah, well WU serves 200 countries in 400k locations... so I'm pretty sure it'd serve a vast majority of the Sythe populace.

Servers seem fine to me.. Only problem i get is "Sythe is under maintenance" but that usually goes away in like 10 seconds?

Most of the times I'm on, It's always up and running.

I don't really see what's the problem.. Sythe was lagging a lot more like a few weeks ago.. Now it's working almost flawlessly..

If it's down, Do something else.

 

It's funny to see all the new people getting annoyed and frustrated. When I joined this site it's just how things were and you learned to live with it lol

Install Google Gears for Sythe, it will help load pages faster. If everybody did this the server wouldn't be so maxxed out all the time.

 

Posting messages got better now. Not much of a delay.

This is true. Is there too much traffic or something?

 

No it's not the traffic or a botnet attack (you can make a pretty good assumption if it's a botnet attack because the 'guests' figure at the bottom of the page would be in the thousands).
I'm just assuming that the server are carrying out some form of back up, server migration or maintenance.

 

This is getting ridiculous, I'd suggest changing hosts.

 

It is hosting, there are not many guests, but it still does not load...

 

I'm fine with it..
