The servers are shit.

I AM SERIOUS WHEN I SAY THE SERVERS ARE GETTING WORSE AND WORSE AROUND THE SITE IN GENERAL.

Today, i've been able to gain access to sythe for around 4-5 minutes at a time, then it goes offline for 5-10 minutes, then the cycle starts again.

I have asked numerous people about it, they have all said the same thing, its actually becoming a bother to reply/post/sell/buy on here now because of it, and I dread having to do anything while on here.

It seriously needs sorting out, just for christ' sake invest some money into the servers.

Any posts saying "if you don't like it, leave" will be trolled, i'm not looking to leave, i'm looking to suggest it being sorted out.

 

The servers are good, maybe how they are setup not.

Why in this world are they still using Apache??? No idea...

 

I completely agree with this. Just as I was about to post, I kept getting "Sythe.org is offline for maintenance."

The servers are really really bad tbh. Is there anything that can be done?

Yeah, Richard really needs to fix this. Very annoying, and it's not only a one time thing, it happeneds very often, but not as bad.

 

I find this annoying as hell, It causes me to double reply, double post threads, double send pm's. It will probably be around 5 minutes after I click the reply button on this post that the page will finish loading and it will reply.

However what is even more annoying is that 4/5 pages, threads, anything that I open on sythe I will receive an error. I then proceed to have to refresh the page for a couple of minutes until I can actually view it.

I think that the servers need an updating, If paypal and rsgp donations were still open I would donate in a heartbeat. I think that if any updates to the site are being planned, that getting the new Vbulletin and updating their servers should be #1 on priority list. All of these problems make navigation annoying and frustrated; I would really love to see it improved.

 

There's more to life than Sythe...

 

I see it as frustrating, but I also know how expensive it is to have a site up even when you have barely any traffic, so I don't wanna think about how expensive it is to run Sythe with all the traffic it gets.

That being said, maybe a donation should open and there should be a "goal" for how much Sythe needs to gather up to get all these issues fixed.

 

I agree it's been getting worse and worse.

Sometimes I'll reply to threads then get the error, then I don't reply at all seeing as I'll keep getting that error for minutes on end and it eventually annoys me enough to to point where I don't even want to post on the thread I was originally looking to offer my advice/help on.

It's not like the site doesn't get enough donations, why can't he spend a little more on the server.

 

It's not as easy as to say "Upgrade it." You actually need to donate to get better servers. It's not worth Sythe's time to upgrade the server when he's losing money. It is a problem when it keeps going offline. So don't be part of the problem be part of the solution. Donate to Sythe today

i saw this title and clicked it then the damn message "site down for maitenence came up" every other time its been server down or somthing like that does this mean its fixed or there trying to fix it? any way i completely agree with you i just joined this site today and already am tired of it!

 

I've been getting this a lot lately, ever since free trade came out.

 

gets annoying getting the 502, 503, and proxy errors as well as maintenance whenever im trying to post

 

Mony people that want to donate have Paypal or RSGP...

I just made a thread asking about the lag in the off-topic forum (should have searched in the feedback forum). The servers have been really bad lately and something really needs to be done to fix them.

 

It happens just get over it. They upgraded them awhile ago and it happens a lot less than it did before.

 

Yeah they seriously just need to get new server's or an upgrade of some sort, would be appreciated.

 

We are not sure what the problem is, lets just hope they will read this and realize it and hopefully fix it soon before bigger problems arise...

for me it really is a pain in the neck.
