The reason why jagex is in action is..

Jagex recently changed the portal ID in the random event causing a lot of bots to get stuck. Then they also block all the spammers advertising gold websites. And god knows what else they did, just to make the legits happy. But why did they do that? They want to win the Golden Joysticks award again LOL. After they win it, they'll bring back all the same stuff again

I'm glad they're doing something about spammers advertising gold websites. It's really annoying having to ignore each and every one of them whenever I sit down somewhere.

Yup, my propaganda theory. They won't stick to anything or else they will lose so much revenue it isn't even funny.

 

And why exactly would Jagex allow spammers back in-game?

 

Believe it or not, the black market for RS gold brings Jagex a lot more revenue.

 

True, but I think a lot of people are going to notice spammers go away and then suddenly come back after a few weeks. It's like they want to lose legit players.

 

Kinda lol, but lets hope they win and we get back to the normal stuff..

I just hope that the bot clients will be fixed, with randoms soon.

 

The game has more botters than legit players, and mot spammers are f2p so it doesn't matter if f2p players leave. They don't make money off f2p player memberships, it's free.

Jagex does not deserve this award because of what they've done to the game.

I'm glad the spamming is over but in all honesty I hope that League of Legends is in the same category and wins. Anyone know Runescape's competition?

LoL is in the same category, and I think it could really easily win, its crazy good and addicting for a F2P.

All of the other games in the category are stupid things like Bejeweled, you can see whats in RS's category if you follow the link.

Voted for LoL myself.

 

I'm actually proud of them for the spam filter. Glad when I'm in a F2P world pking, I'm not seeing 100's of spammers while banking. I also could care less about the "Portal ID" switching, because my bots still seem to run fine.

If they're doing all this just for an award, so be it. Everyone wants something, and if these updates get them what they want, good for them.
