When entering a ranked game, you enter the Fields of Justice with the mentality that you won't have to do everything this game. You expect to be carried.

When you rely on someone, who necessarily isn't of skill level to carry the game, you end up losing. In order to win games, you need to take things into your own hands.

When playing league of legends, play with the mentality that only you exist on your own team. Your teammates are nonexistent - There is only you.

Expect nothing from your teammates, and always expect something from the enemy. Don't wait for the enemy to make a move on you, always be a step ahead of them.

HF getting out of bronze!

Sincerely,
A challenger advisary.

Ive never entered the Fields of Justice with the mentality that my team will do anything but feed. That is step 1 of league of legends. This is not a team game, you're team will only weigh you down

Really? I've entered a lot of games with the mentality that I need to carry but sometimes you just need to step back and let your team carry you.. this was when I was a lot higher ranked though.

In higher ranked games, there are often times these games where people will straight out carry you, whether or not you put an effort into this is irrelevant. They are just that good.

But in low elo, people don't put into consideration all the factors in making deciscions in league of legends. A low ranked player won't know the difference between a risk, and the reward. The trick is to become more aware of what you are doing, and not what your teammates are doing.

People often time resort to toxicity if they feel that others are to blame for the loss of a game, because they are not aware of all the deciding factors yet.

For example,

A mid laner might start flaming the top laner for dying once, where it didn't really benefit the enemy team whatsoever. They would then ignore that they just got pushed out of the middle lane by the opposing mid laner and their jungler, resulting in a loss of a tower, and a huge vision advantage for the enemy, because they believe that kills are the only factor in deciding the outcome of a game.

By focusing on yourself, and nobody else, you become more aware of your own flaws, rather than your teammates'. The sooner you do this, the sooner you will start rising in ELO, you will then also stop being toxic because you realize the reality of the situation and that what you were doing before was completely unnecessary. Toxicity solves nothing.

This is why low ranked players don't rise.

There are also situations where a high ranked player(say, Platinum to Diamond) might also flame and express a variety of toxic behaviour. This usually means that the player is good at the game, but lacks respect for other people.

There are different kinds of toxic people, those who are victim of their own negligence, and those who are toxic because they choose to be.
