I think you can buy them all bundled on blizzard's website. Just download and install like any other game.

    Vanilla WoW... 3 expansions.

Each expansion grants permissions to new instances, raids, level caps, and more perks. In my opinion, should only be purchased if you enjoy your previous experience so that you can reach/explore the next tier. Some take the game much more serious than others, however, so it's to your discretion as to what you wish to do.

You can purchase the game(s) in stores or online. Unfortunately you're starting now instead of 2 weeks ago, when Blizzard had Vanilla WoW and BOTH expansions together for the price of $20 total. Was quite a deal at the time. My suggestion to you would to be to purchase the game in stores, as the online prices can somewhat be too expensive from what I've heard.

Any more questions, feel free to ask. Also, please check out my WoW Guide for the basics of the game if desired.

Yes, and No. The Expansions go Vanilla > Burning Crusade > Wrath of the Lich King > Cataclysm.

Vanilla is lvls 1-60, BC is 60-70, WOTLK is 70-80, Cata is 80-85.

U don't HAVE to have the other expansion until you reach the level cap for the current expansion your playing.

Just so you know the learning curve is kind of tough starting by yourself, Make sure you make your character's on a server people here or your friends irl play on. Also incase your confused Vanilla WoW is just another name for regular old WoW. Also don't get someone to power-level you all the way to level 60 otherwise you'll never really learn the game.

If you want to play "the game" (hehe), all you have to purchase is Vanilla (original WoW). This will allow access to Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms, and a level cap of level 60. If you wish to progress, you will have to purchase the additional expansions (Burning Crusade, The Wrath of the Lich King, and Cataclysm).

This is why some suggest to purchase the Battle Chest, so you won't have to worry about expansions for some time, as it takes a while to get to level 60, 70, etc, unless you recruit a friend to the game. There are always advantages and disadvantages, but in the end, it'll come down to how much you actually wish to play the game.

So you will be playing on EU Servers then? If so, Verts is the only person I know to play on EU Servers that could help you, if she still plays (I'm not certain if she does...).

I'm uncertain as to whether you can switch to US. I do not believe that option is available to players.

Personal choice on what you prefer .. I prefer the toons on alliance side so thats what i am. And if your new i would stray away from PvP servers. As for servers you can make toons on any servers its just that they can't be transferred from one server to another (you have to pay for that)

You would be able to use it on either US or EU. One or the other: not both. It would depend on which you decided to play on initially (which one your account is linked to).
The choice is up to you. There are also some classes that do better with certain races. If you've got Cataclysm on your account, you'd also be able to choose either the Worgen (Alliance) or Goblin (Horde) Classes.

I personally prefer Alliance, but have been trying out Horde for a bit. For me, everything with Alliance is just more convenient, and my preference. Take the time to read all the notes that come up on the right side when creating a character. It could really help you out.

Also, the realm you would choose is up to you as well. Either you want to play solo (like I've done for 4+ years), or group up with some friends (Sythe Guild?) so you at least know some people and can speak with friends while playing the game, making the experience much more worthwhile.

Make sure you download quest helper from curse.com, everyone has it and leveling as a new learning player is slow without it.

Also there isnt really a pvp class anyone can suggest for you. I have seen all classes equally rock in pvp depending on the players preference, so just start a few characters and see what you like. Healers are well sought by groups, but I recommend starting a damaging class at first.

QuestHelper is useless any longer. It'll just add lag to your game, and may possible create other problems. There is an in-game quest helper, which you may access by pulling up your map (M Key) and clicking the box in the bottom right. This will allow you to track your quests in the best possible order, much like QuestHelper, but it's built in for convenience.
I'm certain that if Ham wishes to purchase membership, he knows where to look. No need for hi-jacking/advertising in a thread when he needs help. Also, if you would have read the thread, you would know that he's downloaded the trial version currently, and has not added a Vanilla WoW Key or membership yet.

    Word.

Tell me your game style, i can suggest a class/race combination. I suggest you come on the Gilneas US Horde realm. I can help you level up and my guild and I can give you gold and gear as you progress.

    This ^

You're going to want to play on a server where you know at least SOMEONE to help you.

I remember when I first started playing, I was confused as fuck, you basically want to know someone that you can ask a million questions, and before you know it you'll get used to the game and addicted!

Add my AIM/MSN (works for both) if you wanna bombard me with questions.

P.S: If you come to U.S servers I recommend the server Shadowmoon. Me, Gohan, and like 2 other Sythe members play on that server (Bring Me The Horizon lolol).

I'll edit this post tomorrow, a lot more stuff I wanna write (using I-touch)

just buy the regular WoW and see if you like it, its only 20 bucks and you get a month free, plenty of time to get to 60 (could only take max of 5 days) and to explore and see if you want to keep playing. if you want to keep playing, get BC and lich king cause just getting BC is a waste cause nothing good is at 70, but there is more to do with lich king at level 80. but then if you get 80 might as well get 85 and cata.
TL;DR - get first wow and only if you like it get the rest of the game (all expansions)

Just telling you, do not get discouraged when you first start playing. I maxed out on Runescape then went to WoW, and runescape's size and depth is about 1/7ths the size of WoW. It's a big upgrade, but take everything in stride and you will learn it quickly. I find the experience rewarding and exciting, but everyone interprets the gameplay differently, PM me on here if you have any questions.

You want to do Refer a Friend. It's a perk which enables you to get three times the regular XP. You and your referrer have to level together though.

And I also think that you'll need to buy gametime off people because they don't accept EU creditcards (that's what happened to Verts I think)

We're here to help. It's what the section's for.
This happened to me the other day when I attempted to purchase a CD Key for Cataclysm. I attempted to do it early in the morning though, and tried again in the afternoon, where it worked. I question if they automatically disallow purchases when their office(s) are closed. I'm uncertain, but it's plausible. :)
Refer-a-friend grants many bonuses to players involved. In order to be referred, you need to have not created a WoW Account or had any CD Keys applied. What happens is you will give someone your email. They will send you a free 10-day trial to your email, by which you will use to create your account. In doing so, your accounts will become "linked" for 3 months time. In this time, if you add Vanilla WoW and any additional gametime, benefits will be granted to you. In-game friend-to-friend summoning (1 hour cooldown), 3x the regular experience, and possible free gametime and an exclusive in-game mount for the referrer.
I've heard of OffGamers before. From what I've seen around in the past, they provide quick service and have a great customer support. I doubt their legitimacy has changed, but you should always trade with caution from foreign websites or those not well-known.
That seems like a fair price. I know of some other websites, but unfortunately cannot think of them right now. Feel free to look around, and best of luck in your experience.

    ;)
