    The only reason I can assume is because neither Constitution nor Summoning will factor into a players combat level (Formula is Highest Combat stat out of attack, strength, ranged or mage + defence level + 2.) Therefore if two guys have 50 attack, strength and defence, there combat level will be 102. However if one has 1 summoning and the other 99, the member with 99 summoning has the advantage cause they can use familiars.

    In one of the Q&A's they said they don't have deadlines, and instead have opted for the "it's ready when it's ready" stance; this is very understandable due to the feedback they get from the Beta (and from those who yell and cry outside of it). They said it will not be released before the player-base, at least to some meaningful extent, is satisfied with the product.

    Looking forward to the update or not, since the EoC will occur, this should make everyone happy. This will prevent so many bugs and glitches from occurring (though I have no doubt there will still be plenty come the update) and means they are spending quality time making sure this update is very satisfying.

    7. Would you consider making non EoC system worlds?

    Mark: It’s not actually possible for us to do that. The fundamental changes to the combat systems are game-wide so we can’t maintain the old version of the game and the new EoC at the same time. It’s just not possible to have two worlds running with different systems and even if it was, we’d have to double all the development work we did. It’s just not the right thing to do.

    From what I've heard, we'll hit higher but exp will be altered, so technically still the same rates. Afk'ing will be possible, but using abilities gives a better exp rate.

    I actually like this EoC. I believe Runescape is headed towards a new positive direction. Although I have found and reported many bugs within the new system, we are only in Beta at them moment and I have no doubts that Jagex will have them fixed. 1 Defense pures may be inferior because of the way combat level is calculated now, but pures will not die and this update will give birth to new kinds of pures. My advice towards you all is to start learning the ins and outs of the EoC and start developing your pures. The real world trading price and demand should go up for these new pures. The economy will also go in a WHOLE new direction since the spec have been removed from certain items. A lot of pures will quit instead of balancing out their toons also. Anyway, I'm in love with the beta and the combos you're capable of throwing out. I 3 hitted some kid in the wild today using a dragon spear lol. My guess is that after the Beta, a lot of OP weapons and abilities will be nerfed and certain aspects will be balanced out.

    it seems to me like this is going to make combat harder to do for me.. what with adrenaline and these damn abilities. I don't know for sure if this is going to be a good thing or something that may cause me to quit.
