So i've heard rumors that Canada, the united states, and mexico are going to be united into one country, similar to the European Union. And i've also heard we'll have a new money currency called the Amero.

anyone else heard about this?
 
nope, would be quite interesting. Since America pretty much has the mexican nation now.

I don't think they will, although there is NAFTA, the North Atlantic Free Trades Association, which is a treaty between Canada, the US and Mexico.
But they won't make a union, because imagine, all the mexicans going to the US, since they're a union anyway.

EDIT: Europe isn't 1 country, the countries are working together, and only 15 countries have the Euro as their currency.
 
As Shawn said it's purely theoretical and there have been no government movements by any of the countries to do anything like this so far. Although I suppose you could still discuss it's impact whether positive or negative.

I dislike the idea because in such an agreement the United States would be probably take more control than Canada or Mexico due to its power, wealth, greed, etc. Also converting to one currency across America would not only be difficult but also impractical for Mexico who's economy is so much different than those of Canada and the United States.

I never said the EU was one country, I said they would be forming into one country similar to the EU

Yes, I coul undertand that, but this would also help out mexico, but make America much weaker. We would actually have to work instead of paying these mexican's to do every labor intense job for us.

I heard that we were buying south America and Mexico and making it all the United States. I don't know where Canada came from though..
 
Not possible, the US already has alot of problems and I dont think that they would even be able to agree on a specific government.
 
I think this will never happen. I don't think all of the countries could come together with peace. There would be tension, and we can barely control our own government not including Mexico and Canada, I don't think it will happen.

Did you just look at what the links are? or did you actually look into them. Youtube is a news report, that was televised.
Wikipedia, offers many links to other sites on the topic.

We would not simply "buy" other countries. South America already has formed its own union, can you show any information backing this?

Ignorant. Anything is possible.

All countries have problems.

They would probably agree upon a form of democracy or republic, because thats what is the main form goverments in the three nations currenty.

You forgetting, this happened before, with more countries, and more problems. Of course there will be tension, but you forget that America is not the only country ruleing, its also Mexico, and Canada, we are not simply taking control, but coming to agreements.
 
This is very possible, but might take a while to happen. There are already many agreements for trade rights and other things for Canada, the USA, and Mexico. The political system of the USA or Canada would work out well, with one for the whole nation, not three different ones. The problem is Mexico is still a underdeveloped country, but by that time it will probably have improved a lot.

It's not going to happen. Maybe you haven't noticed, but the only reason half the EU countries are in it is because they're too poor to contribute, and so will reap all the rewards, and the only reason the UK is getting even more involved with Europe (Since we haven't given the Eastern Europeans enough money already amirite) is because Gordon Brown is suppressing our MPs chance to scrutinise it, by giving them less than a minute per clause of, for example, the new Lisbon Treaty (The new EU Constitution, since the old one was rejected, it's apparently OK to just re-submit it) (Source: Private Eye #1203, "Called to Ordure")
