The new trees look terrible..

I haven't seen them in-game as I run only Low Detail (Not sure if they changed any, I was in Lumby and the trees still looked the same).

Did they only change Yew Trees?

They look better, but I could care less about how a tree looks on RS lol.

Your graphics are set on minimum because none of the texture/ roof quality is on your screenshot. Maybe you need to set graphics to full and the game will look at shitload better

 

They look so shit its not funny. Im sure next thing there's gonna be a downloadable client. But the only reason they are trying to update the graphics is to make it as realistic as possible.

Why would anyone who plays runescape care about better graphics in the first place? Runescape has always been about game play, I doubt there was anyone who started playing this game because of the awesome graphics.
These kind of updates don't help immerse me in rs, they just remind me how much it has changed from what I used to love

100% agree, it looks good, but it is not needed, Jagex needed to create a RuneScape 3, or to let the players to play the old RuneScape with the old graphics, when there were no summoning/hunter/dungeoneering, no stupid HP splashes, bar x10 HP, when it looked like this :



When you could simply sit back, relax and go to PK without doing hundreds of quests and other shit...

 

If you play on HD they look way better.

 

A browser based mmo can't really keep up with something like WoW anyways. I still don't get the trees though..

 

I couldn't agree less with this post, JaGex are finally trying to improve their graphics so you slate them for it?

Also, you say that it shouldn't be done gradually, be a MASSIVE change in graphics leads people to rage and quit.

People can't deal with graphical updates, just like you're not doing now.

If they changed the graphics all at once, it would be like what happened when RSC became RS2 and a lot of people quit.

 

This is the same with all of their updates.
They don't think them through/test them enough.
Such as this Livid Farm update - The points earnt for time spent there is just awful..

OT : I loved, and still do, the '07 graphics, they were great.
It's just something we have to adapt too, seeing as Jagex's main focus is attracting 10 year olds to the game. They are a business after all.

 

Actualy, many people enjoyed it and they had an opportunity to transfer their character to RS2 or not.

Jagex doesn't understand that people don't play Runescape for the graphics, it's the gameplay.

They're just castrating the game further with every update, aren't they?

 

Tbh i hate all of the runescape graphic updates, 2005 graphics were bomb imo, when whips looked like glitchy chains of sausages
