Ultimately...everyone knows the Army is superior. ;)

But I've had family in the Navy and know a number of people in fleet right now. It's a fine branch especially if you're looking for a career. The question you have to ask yourself is if you're willing to live on a ship.

Do you have any specific questions?

Well, I'm going to talk to my friend's recruiter and ask her my 100,000 questions. I was just wondering if you knew any stories. I've just heard stories from people who have heard stuff. Like "Oh, my son went and they sent him to Iraq!"
How are the people that you know doing?

One guy I know is a corpsman and got sent to Iraq for eight months. He had some interesting stories for sure. Otherwise if you're planning on joining the Navy and plan accordingly, you won't get sent to any combat zone.

The Navy is the most safe branch. There hasn't been a naval engagement in over fifty years, and the US Navy is tremendously strong. So strong, they've resorted to blowing up pirates. ;)

Most guys like the Navy for the most part. They get to travel, get paid to travel, and have little expenses in the fleet. The only thing is that if you're enlisted, a good number of ships are understaffed so to speak. This means the rotations for doing annoying jobs come around quicker.

I prefer the Marines myself and if I choose to enlist into the military I will be going to the Marines but Navy is my second choice.
